How Do You Electrocute Your Sim?
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:19:14 AM »
I have The Sims 3 Pets for PS3 but I figured it might be the same for both PC and console but I'm not 100% sure.  I've tried having sims who are not handy do things to electric objects but there's no option to do anything but what you're supposed to do.

Do you have to wait until an object is broken and have a non-handy sim try to fix it?

I want a sim to die by electrocution if possible.

I've done starvation, drowning, fire, and old age.  I want something different.

Thanks for reading. :)

You have to wait until it's broken.

My sims rarely get electrocuted. There is more of a chance if the object your sim is repairing is near a puddle (and it's an electrical object). This is for the PC version, but perhaps its true for the console as well?

Thanks for the help. :)  I think I did try to get my non-handy sim electrocuted but they ended up fixing the object after some time.  >:(

I electrocuted (but didn't kill because a mod I use prevents it) a sim the other day who had been soaked by a teen prank on the toilet when I didn't think and told him to fix the dishwasher, I realised my mistake after he had started the repair but left him to see what would happen, bit cruel really  ;D

I find dishwashers break a lot and leave a puddle so are probably a good chance of electrocution, top that with a teen prank to soak them too and that might do the trick.

also if they try to fix an item and fail (getting singed in the process) have them fix it again right away and they may get electrocuted and die.  I have always heard its risky to have a singed Sim fix anything.

If you really want something different, Use NRaas assasination mod. My sim has poisoned, fried, liquified, elotrocuted, etc.

Upgrade stereo, then ask someone else to turn it on - Instant Electrocution

Not sure if that's in console, but that seriously happened recently. Thankfully my Sims has the unlucky trait so the Grim just laughed it off

The fatal rate of a singed sim repairing is 100%, that is gotta get the job done.

An easy way to get singed is from the mausoleum rabbithole.

@Grim Reaper:

Another thing to try is have your Sim try to fix something that is beyond his skill level.  For example, have a level 1 or 2 Handiness Sim try to fix a broken hot tub or teleporter.

@MoMoll:

I don't think suggesting a mod in this case is necessary.  We allow discussion of mods on the Mod Board, but I don't think it should be offered as a solution when there are many ways to get the desired results in regular game play.

Well I think I just found an easy way, the whole process takes less than a minute.

Use a water sprinkler indoors to fill the floor with puddles, have a your victim stand on puddle and repair electrical device. First time will get the victim singed, if lucky. Ask to repair again, while singed, voila!

Much less agonizing to watch than the slow and painful types, starvation, burning and drowning...

Get your sim to tinker with any electrical item when they have insufficient skills then as soon as they are elecricuted get them to try to fix the item or to tinker with another electrical item.  I made this mistake a while back, and had it not been for the deathflower in inventry it would have been terminal.  Obviously, a puddle would be helpful, but not necessary.

The puddle will work for sims of all handiness level. Fast and results guaranteed.  ;)

I don't think a Mod's possible. ;)

@Grim the code for PC states that certain objects will shock your Sim if they're in a puddle. I can't tell you what they are, but they should be fairly obvious - TV, Dishwasher, etc. If you had the PC version, I could probably do something like rig up a shockable bookcase. ;D

That would actually be pretty cool. I find myself wondering how many neighbors my sim could kill with that.....

This psycho moment brought to you by a very bored simmer.  ;D
