The Legacy Help, Tips, and Strategies Thread

I've kind of had a similar experience LlamaMamma.  After messing around with WA and Ambitions for many months, I went back and started playing an old Legacy family in SV that I started shortly after the base game came out.  They were on gen 6, and only were worth 200k simolians, I think that about sums it up!  It's WAY easier to gain money with the two expansions!  I have other families that have that much money or more after just 1 generation.  And with that old Legacy, I had completed a ton of LTW's, one for each sim in the household, many of which were "reach the top of _______ career".

One of my newer Legacies post-WA had over 3 million simolians, and they were only on gen 5. 

Anyway, as for Twinbrook I think Charmaine Mann is a good catch, and I'm also having fun with Amy Bull in my Dynasty.  For Legacies, I really just go with whoever they happen to meet and like first, and then I just work with whatever I get.  I'm not very strategic about it.

I waited 5 days for Shark Racket to become YA, then my Jessica Rabbit-Brenda Starr-type founder married him. He makes a funny growly noise a lot, flexing his muscles.

Can sims get pregnant if you don't initiate Try For Baby?

I have heard of some sims doing it on freewill... But it is very rare.

I think that's because of the Athletic trait.  I've had some Sims make the funniest noises.  My Wishmasters Sim was the best, but I don't know which of her traits caused it.  She would say, "da da da" in a sing-song high voice, then immediately say, "wha wha" in a low voice.  I loved her!

It's really cute when he does that. Also, I've noticed that my female sim sings in the shower, but has never "learned" a song. I haven't seen that before in other sims.

Now I want a girly athlete so I can see her do what yours did, Pam!

I had moved the larger junkyard to SV, and right away it produced epic quanities of rocks and salvageable furniture. It was if all the spawn points were turned on all the time. But, having not really used the large junkyard in Twinbrook, I thought it was the same there too. Now I'm trying a Twinbrook legacy, and I see how bugged the SV junkyard really

LlamaMama I have the opposite experience going on!  My Twinbrook junkyard produces tons of stuff but my SV junkyard produces zip!  So far after 5 Sims days it has not produced one item while my Twinbrook one keeps me busy salvaging.  In one game, (my Twinbrook Renovation Society), I moved a large junkyard to accomodate my small town which was way outside of the usual area.  This one produced nothing.  So I shifted it to a different lot by bull dozing, etc. and it immediately started producing lots of stuff.  I'm wondering if lot locale has anything to do with what gets produced or maybe it could be terrain?

In the normal Twinbrook I found that if there's even one item you can pick up (rock, chair?), then the ball gets rolling.

My Sims have been singing in the shower since the beginning of time.  Even children do it.

I don't think my cute Sim sound came from being Athletic.  It was a different trait she was reflecting, but I don't remember what it was.  Female athletes will make the same sound your male does.

I can seem to find out whether Moodlet Managers are allowed in legacy games. They seem so "cheaty", but boy can they make sims more productive!

Moodlet Managers are allowed in both Legacy and Dynasty games.  It's primarily Metro's tournament challenges that ban the Moodlet Manager.  They're fine pretty much everywhere else.  And I'm sure something like that would be specifically spelled out if it was needed.

You can't use them on Babies - Children which is what I wanted to use them on. I mainly use the MM's to get rid of the 'Witnessed Death' and 'Fatigue' moodlets.

Yeah, the one time I played with a sim using MM, it was too tempting to use it for everything, and the game wasn't as fun anymore. I like your idea of using restraint in how it's used.
