Here is a new link to Pinstar's Rules: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/39862.page
The one listed earlier on this page wasn't working for me either, but I went and found it again.
I quickly skimmed it and couldn't find where it said that the heir could not be moved out...but I am also pretty sure that is true.

Per Pinstar's Rules:
Legacy House: The lot initially moved into by your founder. You may not move the family to another lot during the entire challenge. All heirs must be born in this house (or rather, born from Sims living at this house, even if they use the hospital to give birth)
Therefore the heir can't move to another house.  ;)

It just says all heirs have to be born at the house does not say they have to die there. I would have thought once a new heir is born or becomes young adult it would be feasible to throw an elder out. I mostly keep them around for baby sitting duties but I had one time, where my newly moved in spouse wanted the LTW to have a large family, but with a house already containing an seven people that just was not going to happen unless i evicted a few people.
Anyway even if you cant kick spare heirs out (at the point I kicked said Heir out she was living in a house with her son his wife his three children and her youngest son) its not the end of the world I keep forgetting to do portraits too. I'm not playing for points.

Oh and the child going fishing thing I had a child in my family go to park with another family member. It was his uncle.

Thanks, mine must have been a glitch then. It was daytime, not after curfew.

I looked through Pinstar's rules again.  It does not specifically say the words "the heir must die while living in the Legacy house", but I feel that's how it should be played.  He's so adamant about the bloodline remaining in the Legacy house that I can't imagine that someone as important as an heir would be able to move out.  Just my opinion.  :)

You also want to obtain as many points as you can from your heir even as an elder, so it is best to have everyone live together until death.   ;D
Worse case - just stick that sim in a dungeon, lock the door and forget about them -  ::)

I have never kicked an heir out of the household, it seems like this was their inheritance and they should be entitled to stay there for the rest of their lives.

My heir actually died the day after i kicked her out so i went and got her grave from the graveyard and she is now happily playing with the rest of my ghosts.
She had already achieved her lifetime wish  and maxed out four different skills. I feel really guilty now for kicking her out so i wont be doing that again.
Ok so now i have a problem my legacy family so far have only ever had one child to start off with. In fact in five generations ive only had one set of twins. They were boy/girl twins and i got them by using the cheat.
So the heir has always been straight forward the eldest child inherits now my current heir and his spouse have delivered twins Layla and Lola. So my question is how do people decide who the heir is in these situations. I know the simple answer is just choose one, i was just wondering how people choose

I vote on it when they reach Childhood/Teen/YA I mainly go with Teen as that's when all of the skills open up etc. But if you don't want a vote you can go with the eldest child who in real life circumstances would get the majority of the Inheritance.  :)

I have a question about how the Omni Plant opportunity chain works in legacies. My founder maxed gardening and died before turning in her steaks. I have since had the second generation heir max gardening and complete all the skill challenges, but she only got the first opportunity in that chain, to take a bunch of high quality produce to the restaurant. She's focused on gardening every day and has perfect produce of almost every type, but she's not getting the cheese opportunity, and a lot of time has passed. I should mention that she's tended the cheese and steak plants of the founder, and now has a nice collection of perfect cheese and steak in a chest, ready to turn in when she can. I've been sending her to eat at the restaurant in hopes the opportunity will pop up as a result. Is she somehow locked out of the chain since the founder got it but never completed it?

She should get the rest of the omni plant opportunities.  Sometimes they come really quick and sometimes they are just very slow in coming.  I completed the omni plant series for 2 of my 4 sims in the Wishmaster challenge so they could both order omni plant seeds, but they had to trade off days as they could not order them on the same day as each other.

@LlamaMama:

Also be sure to keep the slot for skill opportunities open.  If you've got another opportunity in place, the Omni plant chain can't appear.

Right, Pam. Thanks.

Has anyone played Twinbrook enough to know who the best legacy mate catches are? Are there any homeless sims with a surprise fortune to bring to a legacy or dynasty?

I'm kind of sad about my SV legacy. My 3rd generation is turning young adult with mates picked out, when I realize that what I thought was a minor adjustment to the rules had in fact been a bug, giving my legacy a huge advantage.

I had moved the larger junkyard to SV, and right away it produced epic quanities of rocks and salvageable furniture. It was if all the spawn points were turned on all the time. But, having not really used the large junkyard in Twinbrook, I thought it was the same there too. Now I'm trying a Twinbrook legacy, and I see how bugged the SV junkyard really is. It kind of taints my SV legacy now, even though I'm not really competing. I've followed the rules, but have made accomodations for WA and Ambitions keeping in the spirit of the original rules.

Am I crazy for feeling uncomfortable about continuing the SV legacy? I'd like to know if anyone else has had a similar experience.
