The Spice Girls were a British pop act that were a short but huge, international craze in the late 90's. I was about four or five when they were at their biggest, so I didn't really latch onto them, but many girls did.

I think there were five in the group, though.

As for them and platform shoes, well, my knowledge doesn't go that far. :P

Heh, I was small when they were big, but old enough to remember them. I think I actually still have a Spice Girls cassette still.

I was 14, the Spice Girls were every where and they brought back platforms. I even got a pair just to be able to dress up like one of them. With them on I was 5'11, so I didn't wear them very much.

Any news on which songs get Simlishized?

Oh, I do hope it will be 2 Unlimited.
If anyone knows throw words 'no' and 'limit' in Simlish you can basically write it yourself.

I was in love with the Spice girls, there were in fact 5 of them. I may or may not still have several of their songs in my iTunes...  ::)

I have to admit, Stayin' Alive is at least tolerable for Disco. That and Disco Inferno.

I guess I'm the only one that was hoping for a bit of punk? You know, that other 70's and 80's music? ;) Chaos UK, Section 5, Dead Kennedys, etc?

Still, I suppose I'll survive - and buy the pack - if they simlish some decent metal.
A 1920s era house needing heat, AC, new floors, new drywall on the walls and ceilings, new bathroom fixtures, new kitchen cabinets, new water heaters.... The roof is sound, but why didn't I just buy an empty lot?

There were 5 spice girls, if you watched the closing ceremonies to the London Olympics they showed up in 5 british taxi cabs and pranced about the stage singing.  There was Scary Spice, Sporty Spice, Posh Spice, Baby Spice and Ginger Spice.

It would be great if they simlish-fied one of their songs,  perhaps "Wannabe"  Other good Simlish songs... anything by Queen would be great (Bohemian Rhapsody perhaps?)

Also someone asked if they were getting bell bottoms and I read somewhere that Yes they were.

:D

Our class sometimes breaks into 'Wannabe', and we all start dancing.  :) I went shopping yesterday, and the platform runners/ sneakers are apparently back. Fashion these days are either from or inspired by the fashion we used to have. Take pastel colours for spring, for example.
Here's a link to one. Sorry if it's against the rules for posting the link.  :-\

Hey there it looks like we are veering slightly off topic here. Discusion about the Spice girls and different music should be left on the babble board. This thread is for discusion of the upcomming stuff pack.

Thanks a lot guys.

It's my fault for starting the off topic discussion, and I'm sorry! Someone mentioned platform sneakers, and being a 90's kid and the fact that I was one of the little girls heavily into the Spice Girls, that's what I thought of. Spice Girls were a huge part of my childhood, so it's natural, I'd immediately get excited and hope for some of their relevance in this stuff pack (I latched on big time!).  :-[

Bumping up a month-old thread, but a pre-order bonus has been announced for this SP.

It's a pinball machine with a slightly tacky flame motif. It looks to function a lot like the one from the Store, judging by this picture:

A stuff pack I'm actually looking forward to and will probably get on release rather than waiting for a deal on steam...

Mostly will end up using the 70s stuff. Get me some punk sims! ;D

A new Community Blog has been posted about the 80's aspect of the Stuff Pack, written by SimGuru_UK. Link here

The 1980’s…big hair, loud clothes, neon arcades…everything was over the top! This was the decade of my birth (Quick! Guess my age! No...wait…don’t…) and it’s an era I remember vividly.

Music was a very important part of the 80’s. The cassette tape, big boom box stereos, rock music…I remember lying on the floor of my bedroom listening to the radio and waiting patiently for my favorite song to come on so I could record it to a mix tape. Fortunately for my Sims, they have robust control over the radio and the ability to skip from song to song while listening to the brand new “Boomin’ Box” which is – you guessed it! – a massive boom box stereo!

The Sims 3 70's, 80's, & 90's Stuff Pack captures the rock’n’roll spirit of the 80’s with an awesome new guitar, and five new facial make-up options including a lightning bolt over the eye and a new three-shade eye shadow. My favorite outfit for men from the 80’s is a top and bottom set we call the “Glam Rock Lace Up” duo. It’s a leather shirt (with lightning bolts on the sides!) with laces up the front, and matching pants with laces down the side.

There are some really great clothing assets for women in this decade! Some of the most iconic looks are most appropriate for the gym, but we also have a prom dress, an 80’s grunge t-shirt, and a hot pink long sleeved shirt paired with a mini-skirt a really big belt.

Video games were popular and the 1980’s were the heyday for the arcade and we celebrate with the new “Blips Vs. Pixel” arcade machine. There is also a new “Neonis Foosball Table,” but I think that’s getting into the realm of the 1990’s…

Stay tuned as I’ll be posting a dev blog all about the 90s and the grunge-tastic ways for your Sims to relive that era!
