Does anything ever grow in the Planter Bowl?

You can't plant trees in the planter bowl. Only plants.

Yes jude,

my Sims grow mushroom, wolf bane, (sp) you name it. If they can plant it inside it, they grow it in there. Never had a tree to grow though..

Hmmm. My sims have only "viewed" the bowl. Do you ask them to plant like they would outside? Must have to have a certain level of gardening skill.

Have you tried clicking inside the bowl? That's the only time it works for me.

I got it to work. I had to resetsim first. Must have just been a glitch. Thanks, everyone for your help.

"Planter Bowl"?  Is this something which came with a specific expansion, or something available in the store?  I have Ambitions, WA, Pets and Showtime only.

It came with Supernatural

As sdhoey said it came with Supernatural and is literally what it sounds like.  A pot to grow plants (not trees) so you can have a garden without green space (you can keep your plants inside, on the balcony or even a roof top garden).  They are going to be fantastic for people on small lots or people with the Late Night expansion pack.

Thats's a shame, they sound useful, and I would like to have them, but, I'm not getting supernatural just to get the planter bowl.  I want a grand piano, a chemistry set  and a spiralstaircase, but, all of these are restricted to EP's I don't own, and won't be buying because, like supernatural I definately do not want the main content.

The planters can be nice, but I don't think they really add much.  It's going to take the same amount of space to plant a seed, no matter if it's outdoors or in the indoor planter bowl.  Or an outdoor planter bowl, for that matter.  I also find them annoying because they have to be watered separately because they aren't with the other plants under the sprinklers.

That is true Pam. When my sims wish for one, I buy just one and plant a wollfbane in it for decoration.

They'll be useful come Seasons when winter rolls around and plants outside stop growing and producing.
