A boring life
« on: June 20, 2010, 08:04:43 AM »
One of Schipperke's posts gave me the idea for this topic.

Question 1: What do the sims in foreign destinations all day? They have no jobs, except the merchants, and I never see them do anything.

Question 2: What do sims with no jobs in SV, RV or Twinbrook all day?

Yes, but I believe only when you are back in your own country after the vacation ends.
Sometimes I got messages that  some sims from Shang Simla is ready to die. And if I will take a trip to the other side of the world to give them a last visit.
So they do age, and eventually die, but you will not see it.

The most logical next question is then: why do I sometimes see children, but no babies and toddlers?

What would you do? Play Sims all day! ;D

Since Ambitions, I have noticed, when I go to peoples house during the day, absolutely no one is home.  Go to the park, not very many there, or the sidewalks.  Come 4pm and the park and the sidewalks are full again and the regular sims that are always in the game have jobs at the new community lots, Cornelia Goth works at the consignment shop, Christopher Steel works at the salon.  The funny thing though, if you ask someone about their career, they say they are unemployed, so I guess in some respect, that brings us back to, where do they go?  lol

Has anyone ever just zoomed their game out over the town and watched the life that goes on, especially weekends or the in the evening.  I did this one time, people were in their yard visiting, people playing at the park on the swings and cooking on the grill, jogging, walking on the sidewalk, going to the shows and the stadium.  It is pretty neat to watch, if you have not done that, it kind of gives you the wow factor at how this game is put together.  I hope I make sense, but this game is quite spectacular if you look at it in a different prospective.

I should ask my parent again: 'Mom, where do babies come from?' ... 'No I mean in China, Egypt and France. The rest of the world is already clear to me.' :P

@ Saltypaws: It definatly makes sense! At least it surely does for me! :O

I've only seen sims do Martial Arts together in China, pretty much nothing else.  :-\

Another question, how do the sims from foreign destinations make money if most of them don't even have jobs?  ???

This just gets weirder and weirder, doesn't it?  ;)

I see quite a few toddlers out and about with their parents at the library, park, beach, etc.  Sometimes they are being taught to walk or talk.

You must mean in the normal neighbourhood, don't you? ;)

Ah, yes.  I misunderstood Leto's context.  Thanks, Sweedy!  :)

And I was just about to ask which country you see them, because I believe your game should either be bugged or you are the only one who has ever see such a wonderful thing of mother nature.
The only way to let a sim from a foreign country have a baby is to make her pregnant yourself.
Besides that, I believe the reason that there are no babies and toddlers in foreign countries is that you can't bring babies and toddlers yourself to a vacation facility. And therefore maybe EA has decided to cut out the whole baby and toddler thing at all there.

I suspect that the World Adventure sims make their living by selling relics on internet auction sites...
