Question about odd Supernatural Story Progression
« on: October 30, 2012, 05:32:32 AM »
My dynasty is in Moonlight Falls, and I recently experienced this strange story progression with one of the main townie families, The Wolffs.  The Wolff family consists of married couple Dwayne and Erica Wolff, and their young adult children who still live with them.

So not long ago the entire family left the house that they've lived in since the start of the game, and moved into a mansion belonging to a single female vampire who is not an original townie.  This surprised me, but I know story progression moves people around a lot so I shrugged it off.  What really threw me was when shortly after the family relocated, wife/mother Erica moved out of the mansion by herself and moved in with another random family.  When I checked her husband Dwayne's relationship panel it still shows them as married, but when I checked Erica's it says her boyfriend is this new guy she's moved in with!  Both Dwayne and Erica's relationship bars are full for one another, so they don't dislike each other or anything...in fact it looks as though Dwayne is completely unaware that his wife has left him.  To make it even stranger, Erica is Family-Oriented and Unflirty!  I am so confused by this development!

Because I haven't been playing Sims 3 for very long I am wondering if this is unusual, or if this sort of thing happens often story progression?  Have you guys experienced things like this in your games?

One question. Did you download the new patch (1.42)? Because people are getting weird relationship things from this patch.

I got you beat. ;D

Anyways, Story Progression is kind of doing things in Moonlight Falls. Branch Timbley and Deedee Wynn got married, and Alice Fitzgerald moved in with them. Twinbrook never sees uncontrolled marriages, so it's something. The Wolffs divorced as well, which might explain why Erica wanted to go out with Pappy, but it doesn't make it any less wrong.

Nope this was a few days before the patch was released.  I've been too afraid to patch after reading about so many bugs, but I've heard that people are being asked on dates left and right regardless of marital status.  But because this happened before, Erica can't use the new patch as an excuse!

Oh the Wolffs divorced in your game?  Maybe it's not uncommon for them to break up then.  I assume they'll get divorced in my game too once Dwayne finds out about Erica's boyfriend  :-\
