If you like I can post the two versions of the code? Otherwise I'm not sure what the easiest way to identify the changes. There's no notes to say what is changed in that file (alchemy recipes).

Happens to me frequently.  If you use Twallans Master Controller you can reset the entire lot and that will fix the problem.  I tired to do it by using the cheats, but there is nothing to shift+click on.

I'll assume that was directed at me and not Chuckles, yes I do use that on non challenge games and I reset them with it which fixed them but why so many in the first place.

I'm wondering if the swimming has something to do with it, odd as that may sound, all the sunken sims were on the middle island having had to cross over the river and the bridges were behaving oddly too. I'll probably never know, I'm currently reinstalling and reverting to 1.39, the features added with this I can live without for the time being, but the problems are making my game unplayable and it's also stopped me from carrying on with my townie dynasty game because of the marriage bug.

I'm usually cautious about updating and wait a few weeks but curiosity got the better of me this time, lesson learned, I'll wait for the bug reports in future as I always have before.

Is the code something at least mildly understandable, or is it random strings of numbers and whatnot?

I did the evict and merge with workaround for a wedding recently. The wife did keep her own name which wouldn't bother me, but even worse, the child born to the couple had the wife's last name and not my family's name. I will edit it on it's toddler birthday. This isn't a challenge game so I edit at will on birthdays anyway.

I have had problems with sunken sims too.  Another glitch I found, instead of sim getting out of the pool, she swam to the shower, got out, showered and came out, sunk back into the floor and swam to the steps.  Went up the steps, swam to bed.  After that. it was fine, actually kind of funny.  Wish I had taken a screen shot, lol.
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?

I actually had the swimming problem before the patch.  It was rare and random but still very hilarious.

It's in XML format, which means it should look like this (shortened):

Code: [Select]
<base>
<RecipeName>FountainOfYouth</Recipe Name>
<Ingredient1>Moonstone</Ingredient1>
</base>

If you want to find out differences, I'd be happy to check it using a handy Notepad++ plugin.

Awesome! I never thought that a plugin that did that would be possible. I love the compare plugin! Ok, so the changes to alchemy recipes is to allow/disallow aliens.

And that's all? Thank you Chuckles (For finding that) And Seabody (For explaining to me what on Earth the code looked like)

This looks like part one of the Seasons patch.  I'm so happy to see some of the changes though like retaining fish after vacation and now my horses won't look stupid after hitting level 10!

I so cannot wait to try out the Blueprint tool either.

I have used the Blueprint tool and it's so fun! You'll have to change the outside walls to make everything match. Out of the different rooms I like the Gothic ones the best. (They're so cool-looking!)

My fairy no longer gets the bloom interaction on mature money trees :(

I'm still getting the bug when a gatherer tries to harvest a money tree too.

Money trees seem to be broken all the way. After one harvesting, they permanently say "Harvest", and there's no option to tend them or anything.

I had that happen to a couple varieties of grape vines too.

The harvest bug was broken by the patch that came with Supernatural.

My latest problem is that my witch who had magic hands before the patch is now failing at conversion rituals.  I won't see if she does at a haunting ritual as you can imagine why.

the sunken Sims is a problem from before the patch.  I've heard a lot of issues will fix when the seasons game gets installed on your computer (stuff like the telescopes and weddings) of course this doesn't help if you don't plan on buying the expansion pack.

So dynasties aren't completely lost.  :)
