I'm slightly nervous about updating due to my Life States Dynasty but having been away from my game for two weeks I think I will risk the update. Besides Rabbit and Muttface (I always forget his name but never his name I use when forget his name..) are already married.. I think I'll make a back-up of the back-up file just in case though, Lol.

Franco.  His name is Franco. ;)  The only reason to not update would be whether or not Rabbit finished her star wish/star challenge for logic.

I'm one of those people who don't intent to get Seasons, and I am frustrated and a bit ticked off that players like me are being dismissed by EA as if we don't count.

Also, the gardening issue, why didn't they fix that?  To much work to change the coding?  How many players have gardens as a self-employed career?  Or a nice size one for personal use?

For me, wedding isn't an issue, my sims don't do weddings, I prefer to do the private wedding.  Less time, less hassle, less money.  For those who want them, I am glad they are getting that fixed, but to me, the gardens are just as (if not more)  important. 


I think I need to stay away from the boards today at least.  So far I am being nice, but it is not a good morning and will probably be as lousy today, hopefully not tomorrow; I tend to get snappish at those times.  I am BP 1 and mixed, cycling today.

Like others have said, I'm sure sure EA will not leave these bugs unfixed for anyone who doesn't get Seasons.  Just because we know that the problems will be fixed with the expansion doesn't mean that they will remain unpatched for everyone else.  They have never required an expansion to play before, I'm sure they won't now either.

Actually - private weddings are effected too unless the Sim is living in the household.  They still don't take each other's name or anything.  It's frustrating but they have never said you don't count.  It just means that no one knows if a fix is coming beyond installing Seasons.  There has been no mention from EA of another patch coming anytime soon.   

If you're truly having problems, don't forget to add your voice to the others on the official forums or through other means.

If you queue the action to use a telescope for a Sim, they will go to the object and then do a reset.  It's only when they autonomously do it that they will stay put.   It's something to do with the coding associated with aliens for the new EP.

Grr, I'd forgotten during my two weeks of not playing Sims that she had rolled the wish and in fact had 44 out of 50 Stars.  >:(

For the wedding situation, I've settled it in non-challenge files by having my Sim "Ask to Move In" under Friendly interactions. A bit of a hassle but it gets them into the same house! I wish they would take the names though. And I found one family where I have an Imaginary Friend made real no one could change names...

You can take them to City Hall and change it manually.

Is the option to ask a sim to be your girlfriend/boyfriend now broken also? I'm trying to play a heartbreaker Sim but the only way his lovers will register for his LTW is if he asks them to be his girlfriend, and then later breaks up with them. I can get them up to Romantic Interest but no higher than that.

EDIT: Nevermind. Apparently I'm just tired. Proposing to go steady still works.

Yeah, mine still loads on speed 1 also. I hope they fix this one.

Has anybody else had trouble with sunken sims since they patched? Riverview has turned to quicksand for me, I had one or two problems happening, a few sims sunk in the ground, could only see the thought bubbles floating just above the floor, and one of the bridges was a bit odd, sims would get out of the car or off the bike, walk a bit and then get back on, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it thinking maybe the town file had got corrupted somehow.

But the sinking is still as bad if not worse, at a protest outside city hall there were placards on the ground, never seen that before it was like they had been discarded, I then realised it was because the holders were in the ground, there were more over by the bookstore and at other community lots too. I had no trouble with this before I patched, only ever seen a sunken sim like this once before in all my time playing now I have an epidemic of them. And it's not due to move objects either.

Chuckles, while you're digging in the code (If it's not too difficult, that is) can check around and tell me what's changed with spells/Alchemy?

If you like I can post the two versions of the code? Otherwise I'm not sure what the easiest way to identify the changes. There's no notes to say what is changed in that file (alchemy recipes).
