Natural Cook vs Cooking skill
« on: October 26, 2012, 12:01:07 PM »
I know the Subject title, but still this one belongs in the skills panel because I am unsure if I need to let my sim keep the Natural Cook trait when he already has made it to level 10 Cooking with all Challenges completed. Does my sim need to keep this trait in order to prepare better food, or doesn't he need it anymore after fulfilling everything?

What an interesting question. It would also be interesting to find out how the Born to Cook LTR would affect things.

Maybe a sim with supermaxed cooking and the Born to Cook LTR doesn't really need the natural cook trait?

Getting rid of the Natural Cook trait would also get rid of the ability to "Kick it up a Notch."  And I've never heard of a level 10 burning their food, so it may be feasible to get rid of it without noticing too much of a difference.

Leto, I would definitely not worry about the Natural Cook trait if your Sim has maxed the skill and has completed the challenges. The main benefit of the trait is a faster learning curve as you are learning the skill, just like Artistic Sims learn Painting faster, etc. Assuming you are using good ingredients to cook with most of his dishes should be turning out perfect anyway.

Right. And perfect is perfect and as there isn't anything above that I assume now the trait can be dropped after reading you guys all post since I easily get +75 dishes without it.
And as"Kick up a notch" doesn't work on dishes that are already perfect. I to see that as the option Take to Plants for gardeners to increases the quality of the plant.

Okay, thanks guys! The next Max Skills will be without Natural Cook trait. Wonder what I will choose instead... Exciting. :)
