The Generational Immortal Dynasty - To the Graveyard
« on: October 22, 2012, 07:34:36 AM »
Well, you know me from such attempts at this challenge as The Provinces x2, The Elfins and The Simpsons. There have been other attempts as well that didn't make it to posting on here. You know they say that practice makes perfect? Well then with the number of attempts I've made at this challenge without success, I must be getting pretty close to perfect ... who knows, maybe this time will be more successful. :)

I've returned to Sunset Valley for this attempt, and am liking what has happened so far.

Anyway ... here's a picture of my founder, on his property, I loved the view, and had to take the screenshot. I tried to get my painter to paint this for his YA portrait, but I got the painting glitch of the painter walking up to the easel and then not starting the portrait. I restarted the game and the painter had no problems. Adam Generational is the name of this guy, and afterwards I thought I probably should have made him a gardener, not a musician.

Chapter One - In the Beginning ...
Chapter Two - Skillers Are Us.
Chapter Three - Love, Sunset Valley style

Chapter One - In The Beginning ...

... Adam had nothing, except for the clothes on his back, a block of land and 1800 simeloens in his pocket. It was a huge block of land with beautiful views out over the waters that surrounded Sunset Valley. And even by way of clothes he didn't have much, he wore the same clothes regardless of what he did, whether it was normal day to day livng, formal affairs, sporting opportunities or sleep, he had the one set of clothes to wear. He removed them when he wanted to swim, he didn't want to wreck them, you see. He stripped down to his undies for swimming, as he didn't want to wreck the only clothes he had. He wasn't neat, or frugal, but he was concerned about his lack of funds and knew he couldn't afford to buy any clothes, especially if he planned to have a roof over his head.

Adam's Young Adult clothes. All the same except for swimming, and at the end is his uniform from (I think) level 3 of the music career.

Adam was a virtuoso and natural born performer, however, and believed he had a certain amount of star quality about him. He was charismatic and believed that a stranger was just a friend he hadn't met yet. Finally, he was ambitious enough to want to be a One Sim Band. He loved all instruments: drums; piano; bass and guitar chief among them. He was told he was mad for wanting to do that, and he agreed with that assessment, he was determined to do it though.

Adam knew that he would need help, and he headed off into the main part of Sunset Valley to find that help. He'd been told about a woman called Agnes Crumplebottom, but as he approached her house, he discovered that she wasn't there, and so he went off elsewhere.

On a road opposite the hospital and a diner was a set of three orange-coloured apartment type buildings situated around a pool. Out front of the apartment on the side directly opposite the hospital was a group of five people. He headed towards them. Four of the five people ran off, and entered their house. The fifth of them remained behind and even waved and smiled at Adam.

"I am Adam," he said to her, "and I need some help. Do you have a job?"

"I am Emma," she replied, "and I love to cook. But aren't you in the wrong part of Sunset Valley? Agnes' house is up that road there, it is a big white house, you will find her there, unless she's been called in to work the consignment store, the pet shop, or to become a stylist or even tattoo artist. I'm thankful that I'm a cook, you know what you get with me."

"No, I'm in the right place, Emma, I came to see you, I have something for you, here, have these?" Adam took his hands from behind his back and gave Emma a bunch of red roses.

"Why, thank you," Emma replied, "why did you come to see me?"

"Well, I'm wanting to do a challenge, and I'm going to need a cook and an artist, sculptor, photographer, gardener and angler. I'm currently 16 days from becoming an adult, so I don't have too much time."

Emma's eyes lit up, and spoke, saying "and you came to our house? How exciting! I am artistic as well as charismatic, and I'm guessing that you are charismatic as well. Sixteen days, you say, well, you're going to need more than just me, aren't you? My deal for you, take us all with you. Cyclon3 can do your sculpting, Stiles the fishing, Tamara and Stiles the gardening and Blair can keep her career. I'll stay in the culinary career, to do the cooking as well as the painting. I hear you get a delightful fridge when you hit the top of that career. Now tell me, what is your lifetime wish and planned skill to supermax?"

"I'm going to be a one sim band, Emma," Adam replied, "and my supermaxed skill will be guitar. I love to perform and be in the spotlight."

"Tough choices," Emma replied, "you are in for a rough time and long journey. And I hope you don't mind the paparazi. Do you have a plan if either or both don't work out?"

"Yep, Charisma," Adam said with a smile, "I'm ambitious and have a certain amount of star quality. Please, Emma, I need help with this. Will you and your roomies come and help with this?"

"Tamara, Cyclon3, Stiles and Blair, we're moving house," Emma called out.

"Thank you, Emma," Adam said to her, "how ever will I be able to repay you?"

"I'm sure we'll come up with something," Emma replied and thought I love your purple, man.

It was now close to night on the first day and Adam and his new roomies headed off to their new home.

And that was the first day ...

Chapter Two - Skillers Are Us

By the time that the six roomies arrived at what was to be their new home, a very simple structure was built. It was a large rectangular room, with one corner of it made into a room for a shower that doubled as a bath and three toilet stalls next to it. The rest of that wall, and a bit of the next, was taken up by a fridge, stove, bench space and a set of small appliances: a coffee maker; food processor and microwave. Two small rooms were at the far end of the room with a single bed in each.

"Stiles and Blair are both loners, and would appreciate their own rooms," Emma explained to Adam. Outside those two rooms, but within the 'house' were a pair of double bunk beds. The fourth wall had a painter's easel and a sculpting station on it. Between the easel and the door into the small bathroom was a door heading out into a garden area. Finally, there were a set of six chairs around two small tables in the middle of the general purpose room. Emma told them that they would have a meeting and discuss this.

"Adam could have gone to Agnes and Christopher for this," Emma said, "many others have, but he came to us, and we aren't going to let him down. We are all going to have to make sacrifices, my friends. Tamara, Stiles and Cyclon3, I need you all to resign from your current careers and take on new careers and challenges. Tamara, you'll be doing the gardening. Head out, find seeds and harvest wild pants first of all, and bring them back here. Do what you can to get special seeds. Stiles, let's see if we can put your loner tendencies and love of the outdoors to good use by getting you to be our angler. We'll also need you to help with the garden as well. Cyclon3, you're our sculptor. You'll get to love coffee in order to become an ice personality in time. We'll also get you and Tamara to work on photography. Blair, we'll need you to work on handiness in addition to your athletics and logic.  Me, I'll be painting and putting my desire to become a culinary librarian on the backburner initially. Blair, you've got work tomorrow morning, off to bed. Cyclon3, your sculpting station awaits. Before I forget, Stiles, Adam is going to need your guitar. Oh and each of us, except for Adam will be getting one of these." Emma gave each of her original roomies a multitab.

Stiles reluctantly handed over the guitar and Adam started rocking out on it even as Cyclon3 and Emma got started on their skilling journey. Blair and Stiles went to bed, while Tamara listened to a gardening tabcast.

Over the next one to two weeks, the house was a mad race for skilling ...

Stiles started off fishing at Summer Hill Springs and helped Tamara in the garden. As he fished or gardened he also listened to the fishing tabcast.

Towards the end of the 2nd week, he was stocking up on cheese, then alley catfish and finally angel fish, and also gave his name to the local press ...

Stiles: That is Stiles with an i. Yes, an i, I do know how to spell my name.

Finally one day he slept through to just before midnight and headed to the Pleasant Rest Cemetery. He'd heard of some kind of fish that was there which only came out between midnight and five am and he wanted to see if he could catch one.

He did it! In fact on his first night he caught six of them, and spent the next day catching alley catfish and angel fish again to catch more of them the next night. During this time he also mastered fishing and joined the angler career.

Tamara focused on the garden. Despite not having a green thumb, she succeeded in becoming a master gardener and also in mastering the gardening skill. From sun up to sun down, she was out there in the garden, gardening.

She had some time away from there occasionally, and used that time to find seeds around the town and check the consignment stores (both Landgraabs and the Elixir store) for useful potions and a camera.

Adam had a single skill focus, guitar and he played it almost non stop in the house, providing music to both Emma and Cyclon3 as they painted and sculpted respectively.

During this time, Adam was also called out to play at a party in the corporate tower and was also asked to be a replacement in the Sunset Valley Orchestra. Adam also signed up to the music career and rose through the ranks in a remarkably short space of time. Of course, with a guitar skill higher that what was needed for the work, that was to be expected. A return to the corporate tower to play for a party celebrating the successful end of another business project was requested of Adam, and then his boss, Pauline Wan told him to make a ton of tips. As he reported back to her on that, he was asked to go to the bookstore and sort the music book section. On completion of his sorting assignment, he would only have 5 more guitar opportunities to achieve guitar star status.

Emma raised her painting skill to level 7 and began painting Adam's young adult portrait. She also raised her cooking skill slowly through the tabcast and through cooking the occasional meal. Emma was steadily rising through the ranks of the culinary career, and there were a few days which saw Emma and Adam racing out the door at the same time for work.

Emma completed the portrait and returned to the job of painting regular paintings.

Cyclon3 mastered logic through the tabcast even as he was striving to become an ice personality. He became a renaissance sim, with logic, sculpting and photography maxed, and he had then acquired a motive mobile and flew through his remaining 3 ice sculptors.

Finally, in what seemed like ages without a sleep, he enjoyed the softness of his bed's sheets and blankets.

Finally, Blair had a tough time ... if she wasn't being electrocuted when attempting to upgrade something, she was burning something on the stove. She turned her hand to logic and tried to discover potions. The result being Blair's experiment exploded and she needed a quick shower.

She had a slight bit more success on the pull up bar in her bedroom. However on more than one occasion, she fell and hurt herself on her backside.

However, she rose nicely through the ranks of the police force eventually hitting the rank of lieutenant and receiving her own police cruiser.

Thanks Ricalynn, Naniminna and Trip! I appreciate the encouragement. It is currently 1:25 am local time, and I must be off to bed. I'll put the pictures up for this chapter when I wake up.

Chapter Three - Love Sunset Valley Style

"Blair," Cyclon3 said late one afternoon to Blair, "come here."

Blair got down off the pull up bar and went to where Cyclon3 was at the chess table. The sculptor and police officer played a friendly game of chess, talking about nothing of any consequence. Blair was a loner, but she was finding Cyclon3's company to be pleasant.

Noticing that it was getting dark outside, and knowing that Cyclon3 had recently started using a telescope, she popped the question, "do you want to show me the stars you've been looking at through that telescope?"

Cyclon3 grinned like a schoolboy and led Blair outside to look at the stars. Because he was inappropriate and she was childish, they didn't really mind that they were sitting under one of the sprinklers that had been purchased and installed by Tamara.

After a while, they both stood up and flirted for a bit before exchanging flowers, compliments and then kisses. Blair confessed her attraction to Cyclon3, which was reciprocated in kind by Cyclon3. Then they agreed to be boyfriend and girlfriend. Blair said she was tired and needed seep, so she kissed Cyclon3 good night and went to her bed, even as Cyclon3 went and drove off in his motive mobile.

Stiles was in the garden, gardening away behind them as all of this was going between his too housemates. "Hmm, there must be something in the water," he mused to himself before changing into his swimmers and jumping in and out of the sprinklers. After a while, Stiles went inside.

Emma and Adam were in the general purpose room, sitting at the table and eating.

"You are getting close to your adult birthday, Adam. I've done your portrait, Cyclon3 did your sculpture, but we haven't had a photograph taken yet. Instead of going in and buying a couple of things, what we should be doing is buying out the consignment store, so that it restocks quicker. Better chance of getting a camera in time that way. Why don't you go down there and do that?" Emma was saying.

"Or we could ask Tamara to go," Adam replied, "you and I have jobs away from the home, Tamara's job as gardener means she doesn't have to get up at set times of the day. And there is something else as well, something I wanted to talk to you about."

"Yeah, Tamara can go, good idea," Emma agreed, "Tamara, head off to the consignment store, buy everything, and keep on doing that until a camera comes up for sale or you run out of money, whichever comes first. Remember you can consign or sell stuff you buy."

Tamara nodded and headed off, while Stiles went and got himself a left over bowl of garden salad from the fridge.

"You said there was something you wanted to talk about," Emma said to Adam.

"Yes, I wanted you to have this," Adam said, handing a gift over to Emma.

Emma opened it to reveal a music box with a ballerina inside it.

"How beautiful," Emma said, "thank you Adam."

"Yes, you are," Adam replied, and then proceeded to flirt with Emma, flirting became hugging, which became kissing, which became confessions of attraction, which became a commitment to a relationship between the two of them, which resulted in Adam proposing marriage to Emma, and based on her squeal and excited bouncing she accepted.

"Hmmm, must be something in the air," Stiles said, and hurriedly went off to bed, forgetting to even engage his neat trait and clean up the table.

Meanwhile, Tamara had reached the consignment store and almost bowled over a fat balding man with glasses.

"Watch where you're going," Tamara snapped and then looked at him, "Oh hi, I'm Tamara Donner."

They began chatting and getting to know each other, and she learned that his name was Gobias Koffi, that he was single, and that he was just as flirty as she was. She also found that he was stealing her heart, even though he was a part of the loca science facility, and not the abandoned warehouse. Tamara forgot about buying out the consignment store and instead decided to pursue him.

She invited him out to dinner with her, an invitation he accepted, though she suspected he was just as interested in riding in her vehicle of the night, Blair's police cruiser. After dining, she firmly set her sights on him, and like Emma, Adam, Cyclon3 and Blair from earlier in the night, Tamara and Koffi flirted, exchanges compliments, kissed, became romantically linked, and agreed to become boyfriend and girlfriend and then fiances.

To celebrate, the two of them went to the local cinema. When backstage they tried for baby. They were caught and thrown out the first time, but not the second time. Now all that had to happen was for them to wait and see if a nooboo was on the way.

Chapter Four - Pets! Camera! Nooboo!

Stiles woke the next day, went to his personal pond and started fishing. He had a lot to think on. All three ladies in the house had romances. Two of them had their romances with the other two men in the house. Stiles was always a loner, only had a few friends at school, spent his prom without a date. When a party was happening, he was the guy in the corner trying to appear as though he was enjoying himself, looking at the flower arrangements. That was fine for a while, but now, not so much. He was the oldest of the housemates, and he was aware that he wanted someone to care for and love.

He amended that, not someone necessarily, some thing would probably so just as well, and he had just seen that there were dogs, cats and horses that needed a good home. He hoped he could give that good home to a dog and a cat. He rang the animal shelter, answered a few simple questions and was approved to get one of the cats. A male by the name of Ichabod. Stiles arranged for cat food, toys, condo, kitty litter and other cat things to be brought to the house and he set it all up. No sooner had it been set up, but the lady from the animal shelter was there, introducing Stiles to the newest member of the household, Ichobod McGraw. He was hyper and almost immediately dragged a toy out of the pet toy box and practiced hunting on it.

As soon as Stiles could, he contacted the shelter again, this time for a dog, well, actually a female puppy, by the name of Petunia McGraw. Stiles greeted the tiny bundle of energy into the house and watched as the young Petunia met with the elderly Ichabod. Ichabod sniffed the puppy and then they began meowing and barking at each other. It seemed that they were hitting it off.

Stiles was happy and returned to his private pond to fish. All was right in Sunset Valley again. He reeled in a deathfish, having stocked the pond with them a few nights earlier, and continued to fish. Actually things weren't fine, they were far far far better than fine.

With the simeloens from Emma's wish for fortune from the genie in his pocket, and Emma's words to not return home without a camera ringing in his ears, Adam headed off to Landgraab's Sell and Swap. He bought out the store - gems, books, time machines, hygenators and more were there, but no cameras. He did it a second time for the same result. He tried again and this time, Eureka, he got a camera. Adam went home and handed it off to Tamara. Adam played his guitar for a while and Tamara took a shot of him rocking out.

Tamara quickly rushed off to the toilet and threw up shortly after taking the photo.

"Watermelon," she cried out, "give me watermelon."

Emma handed over the requested watermelon and Tamara began devouring it, calling for more watermelon, which she kept on devouring. The news came that in the fullness of time that Tamara was expecting a nooboo and once her waters broke, Tamara headed to the hospital. Emma called Gobias and he arrived there just after Tamara.

It was a successful and safe birth and Tamara and Gobias welcomed a nooboo girl into their family, one they named Allana Koffi Donner. She was artistic and easily impressed. Gobias begged that Tamara and Allana join him in his house, and he was refusing to listen to Tamara saying no to that. He remained there for a while, before Emma eventually went outside and told him to leave or she'd be calling the cops. Blair walking outside in her police uniform convinced Gobias to go home by his own choice.

The relationships between Emma and Adam and Blair and Cyclon3 picked up pace and the two ladies were planning a dual wedding. By the time that Allana aged up to being toddler, the two ladies were still planning their weddings.

By the title, I was actually expecting the immortal nooboo, but one for Tamara and Gobias is good too.

You're doing quite well this time. I'm enjoying this.

Adam and Emma Generational (nee Hatch) are pleased to announce the safe arrival of an excitable artistic baby boy, Moses Hatch Generational. Both mother and son are doing well. Moses is Adam and Emma's first child and is the heir to the Generational family fortune.

Edit: Moses isn't Purple :(
