New WA bugs
« on: October 19, 2012, 02:31:45 PM »
I've been given an adventure in China that I've already done. The one where you have to defeat Dong Hua. He is dead already.

I have to insert the keystone (already done) and go through the temple (already done), and kill the mummy (already done)..

So what gives?

Anyone else have this problem?

So that's a new problem as well as the thing in France where you get no adventures at all.

Is there anyway to reset the adventures?

And what is it you want to share with all the members here? I see no question, I see no advice, I see no request and I see no warning for any bug or anything related.  I see nothing that you like to share with us than a bunch of negative text that can't help anyone. Nor can it help you.
If you are frustrated with something Huge than I understand. Like everybody else can here. Everybody get frustrated with this enormity and technically complicated game once in a while, myself included. But your post is nothing but bashing EA.

I beg your pardon? I've never been asked not to criticise EA.... I realise that this game is complicated, so you don't have to be so condescending. There's a lot of game breaking bugs, and THOSE are the frustrations. It's not a difficult game, I've been playing games for 20 years, and I've completed hundreds, so don't insult me by implying I can't play the game.

Anyway...

Now my Sim is in... well I have no idea, but the game is in China. All the usual info panels are blank. My savegame is dead.

Oh well.

I apologise for not bowing down to the overlords of EA, but this addon really should have been fixed long ago.

No need to feel insulted or to bow down to EA, but there is certainly a need to talk nicely and to clear out what is going on in your game so we can try to help you.

From what I understood, you played the adventure in Dragon Cave and defeated the Dong Hua - did you got the secret room with 3 treasure chests open? That secret room and treasure in chests are a reward for completeing that adventure, and visa points as amajor reason to finish those adventures in the first place.

In France you don't have any adventures? That is fairly old bug and apparently still is not fixed.

Well then, my criticisms are entirely justified. Old bugs that should have been fixed ages ago.

I got the dong hua treasure.

The save game is wrecked anyway, so not really going to bother trying this one again.

This will be my last reply on this topic.
You have been on this forum long enough Huge to know that I do nothing to intend anything that will insult members in what way ever. That include I have no desire to insult you.
When I say this game is complicated I wasn't talking about the gameplay, nor was I doubting your gaming experience. I do not know that experience so I will not judge.
But what I did mean is that this game is complicated in its design, in its programming and all that comes with that.
I assume you can see that yourself now in my post when you reread this.

I've barely been here... and you weren't at all clear.

But anyway pointless arguing about something that's never going to get fixed. I shall be severely disappointed if Seasons has game breaking bugs in it as well.

Huge,

Forgive me if I have misunderstood.  I take it that you have been asked to complete the Dragon's Cave a second time in the same game.  This has happenned to me and though annoying, it is not a game breaker.  Simply cancel the op and look for another.  It did not appeared a third time for me.

I too am frustrated by the bugs, especially the game breakers and the game spoilers.  Not fixing bugs expediciously is, in my opinion, very disrespectful of EA to their customers.  The game and all its add-on is expensive;  if it was a commodity like a car or electrical appliance, it would certainly fall foul of "The Sale of Goods Act" (UK).  If only we could use this act on this software EA would be so inundated with claims they would never again issue tangled code!
“In this world, there is nothing softer or thinner than water. But to compel the hard and unyielding, it has no equal. That the weak overcomes the strong, that the hard gives way to the gentle -- this everyone knows. Yet no one asks accordingly.”

Yep, I got asked to do it 4 times. I kept cancelling the adventure, but got it back every time.

Anyway, we're not allowed to "spread negativity" around, so we'd better not discuss this problem any more. ;)

I'm off to a forum where the mods aren't all EA apologists and employees.

Hugh,

Your attitude today has left a lot to be desired.  You should already know that bashing EA is against our rules.  If you don't know that, then please take a peek at them.  There's a link in my signature.  I'm just about tired of this nonsense from this thread today.  The moderators who help me run this Forum are neither EA apologists, nor are they EA employees.  They volunteer their time here to help keep things in order and they certainly don't need to hear you say something so rude.

As I said, I've had enough of this thread today.  I am locking it.
