Making an attic on sims 3
« on: October 18, 2012, 08:33:07 AM »
I want to make an attic on a sims 3 house that I am currently building but I am finding trouble with it! I looked many tutorials but the result of them wasn't the way I wanted!

I want to make an attic that inside will be like that:

I dont want it to be only on the outside like with roof as on the most tutorials but to be like that on the inside! Is this even possible in sims 3? To create a room with sliding (?) walls? And if yes how?

Thanks a lot for your time! :)

  • Just as well my sims game is unplayable (stupid update issues!) I don't have time these days anyway.

I'm afraid the answer may e disappointing, but though the walls can be made to look like that, the windows and sliding walls are a no-go. And you'll never get a screenshot showing it like that. Sorry... That's as far as my knowledge stretches

Hmmm, you might be able to make a slanted ceiling using the constrainfloorelevations false cheat. The downside is that it would be fiddly to do and might make the roof look strange. I'll have to fire up my game tomorrow and give it a shot.  :)

What I have done is used the flat-top half-wall as the outer walls and then played with the roof pitch slider to get the roof to exactly meet the top of the half-wall but sadly the underside of the roof isn't tile-able like the ceilings are.

Skylights would be an awesome addition to roof decorations too. Unfortunately  EA doesn't always do what makes sense. That half-wall trick has been the best work around I've been able to come up with.

I just posted a house on the swap-shop here as an example of that half-wall trick I mentioned.
