No! Don't find out about our mission, Evil-doers! (It's as much our mission as it is theirs: We don't want our forum getting trolled! :P) Mary's gotten your butt out of trouble plenty of times, Nameless. Time to return the favor!  :D

Ack! I saw the title and literally said "No!" out loud. Ack!!!

Anyway, I'm one of the (mostly) silent but many lurkers - I love this story and I especially dig how you incorporate the random happenings that occur in your game into the plot. :)

Eliminate Tiny Fairy*

Diary Entry

I ran through the house, calling Mary's name.

I hoped to find her napping in her little fairy house and that she'd emerge, annoyed at being unceremoniously awakened.  But she didn't respond to my calls and knocking, and I reluctantly concluded she wasn't there.

I couldn't think of any reason for her to be upstairs, but I looked there anyway.

My desperation growing, I sought information from the presence in the mirror, asking if it knew where Mary was.  But the vile thing just laughed at me and said in its hollow voice, "Eliminate tiny fairy."

I ran outside again, to where Mary's snow scene still sat on the easel.  There was something very poignant about that half-finished painting patiently waiting for the artist to return and put the finishing touches on it.

Mary's painting reminded me of how cheerfully she had spoken of "Seasons" coming soon to our lives.  I still wasn't sure what she had been talking about, but that didn't matter.  What was worrying me was whether or not Mary would be around to see these "Seasons" if they did arrive.  I remembered Mary telling me of her previous encounter with Death and hoped I would be in time to save her.

I put in frantic calls to Goodwin and Holly, who promised to come right over.

Goodwin said he had been out patrolling in his police car and had seen Simler and Vita leaving City Hall, whispering urgently between themselves.

Obviously they had taken Mary.  But where?  I was so frantic with worry, I was ready to storm Simler's house and beat the information out of him.

Then Holly said, "I've seen my mother and the others sometimes going into a little house across the street from where we live.  I think it's their meeting place.  Do you suppose that's where they've taken Mary?"

Thank goodness for Holly and her alertness!  The three of us agreed that most likely the Evil overlords had taken Mary to their meeting place.  We piled into my van and set off down the hill, hoping to be in time to save Mary.

Diary Entry Ends

*Thanks to Wiry for the comment that gave me this chapter's title!

Ok so what are they gonna do to a fairy anyway? Seal her in a glass jar? ... Oh dear, what a troubling thought!
