Evil Comes Calling

Diary Entry

It was Saturday again, and I was getting ready to leave for a little busking in front of the theatre, when a visitor arrived.  He was a stranger to me, but I recognized him from the pictures Holly had shown me.  My heart sank as I wondered what Simler was doing at my front gate.

He introduced himself, informing me proudly that he was our new town councillor.  Then he said, "I am making a list of all the residents of our fair town.  We need to know which are the pure Sims and which are lower life forms.  Now, tell me:  were your parents Sims?  How about your grandparents?  We need to know who is of pure Sim ancestry and who has mixed blood."

I gaped at him, unable to believe my ears.

"Come, come!"  he exclaimed.  "We can check, you know, so there's no use you lying about it.  If you are the product of miscegenation, you must admit it.  Were any of your grandparents non-Sims?"

I managed to stammer out that my grandparents had all been ordinary Sims.  He gave me a long hard look as if studying me for evidence of non-Sim ancestry.  He began ranting angrily about the need to find a "final solution" to the problem of non-human Sims in our society.  I stood rigidly hardly daring to breathe.  He was obviously insane and dangerous - easily the most terrifying character I had encountered in Sundown Town.

His next words filled me with dread:  "I have heard reports of a blonde fairy in this part of town.  Do you know anything about this?"

I gulped.  Praying that Mary wouldn't choose this moment to emerge from the basement, I told him that I had seen a fairy a long time ago and that I thought she had been a visitor from Twinbrook who had gone home.

Perhaps he believed me, or perhaps he just wanted to get away from my ripe aroma (I had once again forgotten to shower).  He gave me one last suspicious glare, then called for his driver and left in a long black limousine.

I was still standing there trying to calm myself when another visitor arrived.  When did Raven House become Grand Central Station?  I could tell that the next visitor was Evil (big surprise) but he didn't seem particularly interested in me or my ancestry, thank goodness.  Nor was he hunting fairies.  A slender, wiry-looking fellow, he told me his name was William*.

William wanted to know where he could find Vita Alto.  I wanted to tell him not to worry, she'd find him if she wanted him, but the encounter with Simler had left me fresh out of clever repartee.  I told William that Vita was often downtown on a Saturday afternoon, and that I was going that way if he wanted a lift.  He thanked me but said he had his own transportation, and that he'd follow me if I showed him the way.  So we set out.

I read about the parrot dying and thought of the dead parrot skit from Monty Python, saw the pictures (and poor Nameless crying) and thought.... "maybe he's just resting?  pining for the fjords?"  and started chuckling to myself.... seriously wrecked the moment.  ::)

Loving the story!

I'm so sorry that Nameless and Mary have to deal with losing a pet amidst their ongoing battle against Evil. I really hope that this isn't a bad sign of things to come! However, I am very much afraid that we're about to have things get a lot more interestingly Evil now that Wiry's William has come to visit. Keeping my fingers crossed that Nameless and Mary Fairy can overcome the odds that seem to be increasingly stacked against them!!

And....Just because it couldn't hurt, I am chanting, "I do believe in Fairies, I do, I do!!" over and over again!! *Fairy Power*

Heh heh heh "wiry-looking" that cracked me up. I've been wondering if William would make an appearance! I wonder if we're going to see a new Evil tiny blonde Alto soon  ???

I had to laugh at 'ripe aroma' lol! I don't think Simler will like William, he a witch after all. Maybe he can turn Simler into a toad. :P
Nameless will have his hand full with William, Vita and Simler.

Nameless does have one advantage, though. Evil is too selfish to work together long. Simler, William, and Vita are as likely to tear each other apart as they are to focus on Nameless.

Fred... Is as naturally lazy as Flintstone... err, Nameless, and needs propting to do everything that is necessary. But deep down they're balls of goo. They're also good, and have major conscience issues, though they try to avoid being the hero. See?

Makes sense to me.  And a first-rate character analysis of both fellows.  If Simgund is reading your post, I'm sure he's nodding his head in agreement.

Thanks for explaining - I really didn't get where you were coming from and it was driving me crazy!  :D

Now I'm wondering if the new parrot's name should be Bam-Bam.  ::)

Strange Goings-On

Diary Entry

The library fund was practically nonexistent, so as I set up at my usual busking station I was hoping for a good crowd and generous tips.  I wasn't best pleased to see these two characters arrive.

Simler and William?  Why had they both come here to watch me play?  Surely this was no coincidence.  I forced my fingers to keep strumming chords as I watched uneasily to see what would happen.

Simler strode over, planted himself firmly in front of William, and began ranting about witches.

Having observed William's mode of transportation, I had a feeling that William might not appreciate Simler's attitude.  And when Simler continued with his rant advocating witch-burning, William reacted.

"So you're in favour of burning, are you, Mr Nasty-Pants?!" William exclaimed.  "Well, allow me to oblige!"

Sparks flew from William's fingers, and Simler found himself a little hot under the collar.  Actually, it was more in his pants than under his collar.

Simler scuttled off to find a shower while William, looking smug, sauntered across to the park.

I turned around so I could watch what William was going to do as I continued playing.  I saw him go up to Vita, who was hitting it big at the slot machine.

As I watched, William and Vita held a long conversation.  It was getting dark and I was too far away to overhear what was said, but my impression was that they were getting along very well.

When I saw Vita and William sit down on the grass, I could contain my curiousity no longer.  The Saturday evening crowd was very sparse and the hoped-for tips had not been forthcoming, so I hurriedly packed up my guitar and made my way over to the park, hoping to overhear their conversation without being too obvious about it.

The two of them were gazing at the night sky.

I heard William say, "Someday all that will be mine!  If you're nice to me, Vita, I may be willing to share my empire with you."

Vita leaned in close to William.  I wasn't sure if she was whispering endearments in his ear or if she was looking for a good spot on his neck to sink her fangs into.

As I watched in horrified fascination, they stood and kissed.

Then William said in a rough tone of voice, "Just don't think of double-crossing me, Vita.  In case you were thinking of doing that, remember:  I have powers."  He did that thing with his hands again:

Involuntarily, I gasped loudly.  For the first time, Vita noticed my presence and turned around to focus on me.  She was hungry, and she was gazing at me.

I whirled around and ran all the way home to Raven House.

So what was all that about?
