Aww.. it is sad that his buddy died. After the first bird in my game die, I let the sims keep it in their inventory. They play with the bird every chance they get.

Sorry about PJ -- I hate it when the pets die.

Does Simler have the Supernatural Skeptic trait? I'm impressed that you were able to get so many negative reactions. Also, I'm worried about the future of the library.

Do they live longer in the inventory?  I wish I had known about that trick.  There's a stray African Grey parrot just behind the house, but I've been holding off on bringing it into the house because I didn't want to see another one die.  If we can prevent that by keeping the bird in his inventory, the household just may get a new parrot.  If you keep the bird in inventory, do you still have to feed it?

Yes, it's the Supernatural Skeptic trait that gives him all those negative interactions with the supernaturals.  Combined with his mean-spiritedness, lack of humour, evil nature and whatever other trait I gave him, it's easy to catch him looking nasty.

You're right, Marian.  Building and stocking a library is a big project.  I went into another game (a town that has a library) to see what it would cost to buy it and came up with the figure of $129,374.  Cost of purchasing the art gallery - $233,743 + another $66,237 for upgrades.  So we're looking at around $430,000 or so altogether.  We're not using cheats for the money or any of the get-rich quick schemes that people have come up with, so Nameless and Mary are a long way from their goal at this point.

And then, of course, we're going to have to deal with the reactions of the Evil ones when they see a library going in.  I'm not sure how that is going to play out.  Mr Payne better come up with some ideas, because I'm really not sure how to deal with it.

You don't have to feed the bird and it didn't escape like other small creatures. Snakes, turtles and lizards escape lol. And no the bird don't die, it will outlive the sim. :)

That's great news, thank you!

Now, if I can come up with another name, Nameless will have another little buddy.  Anyone have any ideas for a name?

Going with the theme, we could use MJ. "Mary Junior" SJ for Simgund could work, too.

I like the idea of a parrot named after Simgund!  But I don't think Nameless is quite keen enough on Mary to want to name his bird after her.  Not at this point.  ;)

Nameless needs a puppy.  The walking the dog will give him yet another reason to wander around town, keeping an eye on things.  Dogs also snoop out gems and rocks, which can bring in useful simoleons.  Puppy!

Having a bird in the inventory will help with the fun and social needs. I usually have my single adventurers pick up a bird, because it gives easy access to entertainment and social interactions when in tombs.

Well, "MJ" just says "Michael Jackson" to me... Anyway, get a Rottweiller, it will seem an evil enough animal to evil Sims. They'll think Fred is turning evil too, lol! I call him Fred, because my subconscious says "Flintstone" when I think of him, hahaha!

Maybe you could name the bird "Alvi", or "Holly" or something at least close to a good sim's name. Holly sounds the least suspicious, though. Maybe you could name it after his daughter, too.

Thanks for the great name suggestions.  I like several of them - now my problem is, how to choose!

Unfortunately, I just don't think Nameless and Mary have time for a dog at this point.  And Incubus is busy elsewhere.  But I do think they may adopt that other grey parrot that has appeared behind the house.

And I just have to ask.  Nameless as Fred Flintstone???

Well, "MJ" just says "Michael Jackson" to me... Anyway, get a Rottweiller, it will seem an evil enough animal to evil Sims. They'll think Fred is turning evil too, lol! I call him Fred, because my subconscious says "Flintstone" when I think of him, hahaha!

I almost choked on my tea when I read that!  Never in a million years would I have expected to find someone equating Nameless and Fred Flintstone!  What gave him away?  Was it his constant habit of yelling "yabba dabba doo?"

Donatello, my friend, you got some 'splainin' to do.  :D
