If I ever saw zombie Vita I would hightail it out of there!

I'm so glad he finally managed to meet up with Holly.

The doctors therapy seems to be working.

I think it's from Sunlit Tides.

Yes, it's the criminal headquarters from Sunlit Tides.

Take a wild guess what I'm doing... Hahaha, I'm re-installing Sims! Ah, the withdrawals I've suffered! Now I can go about reading this awesome story again with no need to feel all wrenched up inside... Well done on the story so far, it is awesome.

My Convalescence

Diary Entry

I felt I was truly beginning to heal from the malaise inflicted by my divorce and this terrible town.  The Doctor had told  me to get plenty of fun and relaxation; "take up a hobby," he said.  Unfortunately, Holly was in school most of the day and I wouldn't be able to track down the other Good Sim until the weekend so I had to amuse myself.  I took up painting and discovered I enjoyed it.  It was fun!

My attempt to write a novel was less successful.  My publishers informed me that it was a flop.  The royalty cheques were miniscule, but it was the first money I had ever earned, and I felt a surge of pride.

And the grey parrot seemed to enjoy my music.

Of course, I hadn't washed dishes or cleaned up since I arrived, and it showed.  I was fast running out of surfaces to cook on or eat off of.  So I was secretly rather pleased to see the maid Mr Payne had hired.

The first maid seemed a bit dimwitted.  She just kept picking up the dishes and putting them down again, so I fired her.

The second one was no better.  He invited one of his colleagues along to help him, and they stood outside the door like a pair of bookends until I told them both to leave.

Just before they departed, one of them said, "How do you expect us to clean your house if you don't unlock the door?"  Oh.  I had forgotten that I had locked the door to keep out zombies, vampires, and whatever other intruders might be about.  But it seems that maids don't have access to the special lock-picking equipment that burglars enjoy, so I apologized and unlocked my front door.

The next day a new maid arrived wearing a festive hat and an air of competent confidence as he cleaned out the layers of grime the house had been accumulating.

I remembered the old gypsy telling me last week "things should get better in about a week."  I thought meeting Holly, seeing the Doctor, and being able to eat at the table again probably meant things were indeed improving for me.  I should have known better.

And if I am, would you care to elaborate on that theory?  I'm totally flabbergasted as to how you might have arrived at that conclusion.  Dextra, my friend, you got some 'splainin' to do!  :D
Mr. Panye was muttering about carrots. And carrots came with Pets so that horses could eat them. Ergo, Mr Panye is getting Namless a horse. See? Very simple.  ::)

Thank you for explaining that.  I am so relieved!  Because I actually thought you were suggesting he might be a horse in some different life (after Rosa's suggestion about him being an alien rabbit).  And I really didn't want to start having dreams of Mr Payne as a horse.

By the way, that business with the maids - it wasn't deliberate, I really didn't realize that the problem was I had forgotten to unlock the door!   ::)  I don't have a lot of experience with maids; my poor Sims usually do their own cleaning.

Bonehilda might be good for this guy, because he's a slob and she will continue to clean even after a maid would have left.

Bonehilda would have been the perfect addition to that house!  Why didn't I think of her!

Don't Put Your Trust in Fortune Tellers!

Diary Entry

The last few days hadn't been too bad.  Meeting Holly had really raised my spirits.  I thought I might work on a few more showers.  I was beginning to feel hopeful, then something happened that brought me crashing back to earth.

PJ and I were hangin' out early one morning.  The little fellow had a deep appreciation of music, and loved to dance to the guitar.

There was a knock on the door.  Who could possibly be calling at such an early hour?  I answered the door and she swept into the room.

When I pointed out that 5:30 am was a bit early to be paying a visit she said, "No, you don't understand.  I'm your new assistant.  Mr Payne sent me.  He didn't tell you?"

Well, no, he hadn't told me.  More to the point, he hadn't even asked me if I wanted an assistant.  Especially a woman.  I mean, my wife had been bad enough.  I had put up with her nagging because of our daughter, but why should I have another female in the house holding her nose and complaining?

She told me her name was Mary and seemed to expect me to introduce myself.  But I wasn't going to pretend to be happy to see this female come marching into my house and making herself at home.  I asked her what was wrong with her back - did she have some sort of deformity that caused all those flashing lights?  She replied, "Those are my wings.  I'm a fairy."  Mary Fairy?  I snickered.  Then I told her I had never met a lower life form before.

I saw anger flash in her eyes, and I was glad.  I hoped she'd pick up her little fairy suitcase and depart.  She wasn't wanted here.  In case she didn't get the hint, I pressed on.  I told her there was no place for her to sleep because the second bedroom was full of the showers for me to work on.  She replied, "Then I'll sleep in the basement.  You don't mind if I spend some of the money I brought to make a room for myself in the basement, do you?  After all, it is my own money."

The basement was a dark, dank place that the old vampire who last owned the house used to conduct his ghoulish experiments in.  No sane person would choose to spend their time there.  But I couldn't come up with a good excuse to prevent her from spending her own money to fix it up a bit.

"Good," she said.  "Then that's settled.  I'll just head downstairs and get started.  See you around."

And with a swish of her long skirts, she was off downstairs.  I stood staring after her.

Poor nameless, he's got his work cut out for him now. How will he live with someone nagging him all the time. I guess Mr Payne was worried about his progress, since he sent in a spy...
