The carrots and sticks must mean something, now I'm going to wonder about it. Don't keep us in suspense too long ;D

Sorry, that was another case of me thinking something was obvious (like the evil showers) when it really wasn't.  It was me being unclear, rather than mysterious.  Mr Payne is trying to think of how to motivate Nameless to get on with his mission.  Which works better - the carrot or the stick?  Bribery for doing well vs punishment for not doing well?  Something is needed to get that slacker Nameless up off his rump.

But I  have to say, Rosa's theory about Mr Payne being some sort of alien bunny is a lot more interesting!  And fits remarkably well with what we know of Mr Payne and his habits.  That idea is being tucked away in the dark recesses of my brain, for possible future reference.

Odinsdottir, I am speechless.  Truly.  Of course I know I'm streets behind the authors you named, but to even be mentioned in the same breath as them is an honour I never thought to have.  Thank you.

I love Mr Payne! This weekend I'm going to read Riches Galore, can you believe a bookworm like me haven't read it?
I love your writing. :)

Schip, It's true every word.  You really ought to be a writer.  Well, you are a writer, our writer!

Agreed. You have a talent for engaging characters and situations in which we want to see them do well. I think one of the things I like so much is that the characters you have are always flawed in some way, which makes them much more realistic and relatable, and they improve over time. Yet you keep it from seeming formulaic because each has different flaws and strengths and challenges!

And speaking of being honoured...
But I  have to say, Rosa's theory about Mr Payne being some sort of alien bunny is a lot more interesting!  And fits remarkably well with what we know of Mr Payne and his habits.  That idea is being tucked away in the dark recesses of my brain, for possible future reference.

The idea that my crazy late-night connections could figure into Mr Payne's actual backstory...! Wow!

Huh?  Are you saying you think Mr Payne has equine relations?  Am I understanding you right?  And if I am, would you care to elaborate on that theory?  I'm totally flabbergasted as to how you might have arrived at that conclusion.  Dextra, my friend, you got some 'splainin' to do!  :D

After Treatment

Diary Entry

I felt a little better after my psychoanalysis.  Maybe it was the post-hypnotic suggestions the Doctor had given me, but I started feeling stronger and less overwhelmed by it all.  I decided to give his advice a try and set about to see if I could make the necessary modifications on one of the showers.  I worked and worked.  It seemed to take forever.

Then suddenly, the shower took on a cleaner, brighter appearance as the evil was miraculously scrubbed away.

I had to admit, I felt rather proud of myself.  It was the first work I had ever done, and it gave me a feeling of accomplishment.  I began to feel I could once again face the terrible town and its vile inhabitants.  Still missing my piano, I packed up my new guitar and left the house.

I decided first to go stake out the Alto house to see if I might catch a glimpse of Holly.  I figured I'd be safe enough if I stayed in the park across the street, so I took out my fishing pole and pretended to be interested in nothing more than catching something for dinner.

Soon Vita arrived home.  She didn't notice me, but I was appalled to see the change in her.

Hank Goddard as a zombie was somehow pathetic, but Vita?  She just looked more evil than ever.  But there was no sign of Holly, and the criminals coming and going from their headquarters across the street were starting to notice me, so I packed up my fishing rod and headed downtown to play guitar.

The usual collection of gangsters, evil overlords and innocent children collected to watch me playing.  But - could it be?  Was that Holly I saw carrying her homework?  Mr Payne had shown me a picture of her, and I had been waiting so long to catch a glimpse of her.  I quickly packed up my guitar before she could disappear.

Finally someone who didn't recoil in horror at meeting a Good Sim!  She had been waiting a long time to hear back from Mr Payne, and her relief at finally meeting me was great.  But no greater than mine.  I felt I had finally met a kindred spirit.  We talked and talked.  I even told her about the teddy bear I sleep with, and she didn't mock me for being childish as so many others had done.

Others might turn up their noses at me, but Holly and I quickly became good friends.

She even gave me a ride home in her expensive car and didn't once complain about me smelling up her vehicle.  I knew I would forever treasure my memory of meeting Holly.  And she told me the name of the other Good Sim in town.

Ack! A cliffhanger! Hmmm, I wonder if there is something more than friendship in the future for Nameless and Holly. Once she grows up, of course. So cool how the shower changed colour!

I'd much it up better than Vita has  ;D

Especially since my sims entertain no notions of allowing Good Sims to remain based on anything. All Non-Evil sims must go.  ;)

I'm glad he meet Holly and they become friends. I'm so curious who the other good sim is!
Vita is downright scary as a zombie. :o
