Fridge question
« on: October 14, 2012, 08:36:24 AM »
Hi all I did a search and didnt find similar question so I decided to ask:

Unlike bookshelves, fridge storage is linked across multiple fridges, so if we put food into fridge A, we can get the same food from fridge B. My question is, if I have the Minus One Kelvin fridge from Culinary career and a regular fridge in the same lot, what happens to the food? Will the regular fridge influence (lower) the ability of the -1 fridge to keep food fresh?

Sorry if it is a silly question.

Now, I have no clue on the subject but my hypothesis is that it will maintain the food’s quality akin to that of the better fridge; i.e. with the MinusOneDegreeKelvin Refrigerator, you’d still get its quality substain even with the cheapest fridge. They wouldn’t give you the best fridge if it didn’t provide benefits over the purchasable ones, am I right?

The food will keep, I have a strange bug in one of my games where I can't delete the old fridge to replace with the kelvin one. I put the old fridge somewhere inaccessible on the lot and added the kelvin one where the old one was. No spoiled food yet and it has been many sim weeks since I got the kelvin fridge so it should work for you as well.

And you can access food put in fridge A from fridge B. I do it all the time, and Pam even makes mention of it in her Dreamweaver story.

Am I the only one who ever pondered if that was their way of making up for not having dumbwaiters?

The linked fridge inventory beats dumbwaiters.

True.... But, when you're trying to figure out how to put one in a house, the fridge linkage certainly helps.
