Ridiculous income from showtime professions
« on: October 12, 2012, 03:53:29 AM »
I mean seriously.... that's insane amount of money. My singer sim is making 60k a week just doing two steady gigs at the local big show venues. (not to mention the random gift I get every week for being a 5 star celebrity that could worth up to 15k or )
I can cancel steady and do shows every other day for even more if I want to.

The only way to make more money that i know of is transfiguration (or whatever it is called) of tiberium with a martial art sim (or a very capable dog), but that's a lot of micro management involve plus you need the skills, the training, and MATH. (BTW, supernatural made this even more broken with gem cut machine, which means each uncut tiberium your pet find can be cut into 3-4 gem dust which all grow into full grown spire cut in a day or two).

This kinda makes painting/writing etc pointless since those require so much more grinding and don't even make nearly as much.

Careers have become pointless too pretty much. My sim's pet was making more than she was as a doctor/writer. The only challenge left in the game now is trying to avoid all the unrealistic, easy money methods and that's becoming more difficult to do.

Ditto.  I stopped playing my SimSelf game because the two dogs were making all the money.  Granted, being a level 10 Sculptor helped with that, but still.  And the thing is, if you just leave dogs to do whatever they want, they eventually get taken away because they go aggressive and then lonely because they refuse to socialize. (Learned this the hard way.)  So they have to hunt.  :(

Actually it's rather realistic. How much do you real singers make for doing a show? Why is Madonna and others so rich?

You can send the dog to neighbors houses and let it scratch at the door. The neighbor must be at home. The pet can socialize with them.
When I didn't find a neighbor at home, I send my pets to the park or even the make rover salon.
Always get more than one pet if you have working sims. Your dog don't  have to hunt if you didn't  want him too.
