Question about The Sims 3 Store

There's a question I have about the sims 3 store thats been bugging me. If you purchase a set, but you already own an item in that set, will you get two of that item?

That's okay. I don't have to worry anymore about getting two of the same items.

If you already own one or more items of a set and then later purchase the set, you definitely don't get two of anything.  When I first started buying things at the store, I just got individual items I wanted and then later started buying sets when they introduced the daily deals.  When I realized that I was actually paying for things twice that way, I stopped buying individual items for the most part and started waiting for sets to go on sale.  I don't always want to wait, but it's definitely cheaper that way.
