Supernatural disc not found-- I just installed it! :(

Hi guys, it's been awhile!

Anyway, I just installed Supernatural on my computer, and when I get to the menu in game, it says it can't find the disc. Obviously there isn't any scratches on the disc, because it's new. Did anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Simlish, I also had problems with my SN disc; not the same problem as you, mine installed ok and then every time I inserted the disc to play, the disc tried to uninstall the game.  After several emails to EA and a lot of time spent on their help chat line, the solution for my problem was:  1.  Download the cumulative patch for the game,  here:  http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/175477.page 
2.  Download and install the game from Origin.  It took two tries to get this to work, but after I downloaded the patch things were ok.  Now I have a game that works without the disc. 

I don't know if this would work for you or not.  If you ordered your disc from Origin, as I did, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it.  Good luck.

Would that mod be allowed in a Dynasty game Seabody? I would think so since it doesn't actually affect the game.

I'm not sure. As I understand it, it doesn't affect any game resource apart from the start up function (the processes which occur when you launch the game) so it should be. Check with Metro/Rica though, as I'm not sure.

All you have to do is register the game and be using a PC not a Mac to use Origin. 


As for the mod, it's open ended until Metro can be talked to.

I have a Mac. There is only one pc in my house and it's my brother's, so I don't use it that often. But it's ok, I tried opening the game 3 more times and it worked. Next time it happens (and I know it probably will) I will try to do that though, Rica. Thanks!

By March of next year there will be an Origin client for Mac as they are releasing it near the release of SimCity.   And I used to get the disc error, too, on my Mac.   It was always very hit or miss.

A mod shouldn't be the first solution in this situation.  There are other things to try before even mentioning a mod, really.  Reinstalling the Supernatural is something to try before a mod.  Even though we now allow discussion of mods on the Mods board, it's not the preferred suggestion for players with problems.
