Things you wish Sims 3 Console had!
« on: October 07, 2012, 11:20:36 AM »
We all know that the console versions for Sims 3 doesn't have things that the PC version does. So this topic is for discussing things that you wish a console version had, or just something that Sims should have if it doesn't. Go ahead, discuss away!

I wish we had the ability to edit the whole town, not just the few lots. And all the supernatural stuff!

I wish we had an empty lot in the town to make our own building to add to the community.

The things that I think would improve console play are:

1) Having your other household Sims do what you've queued for them when you take a Sim somewhere else.  Whenever I would take a Sim to the park or a fishing hole, etc., the other household members would sometimes do things that were somewhat out of character for them - like Neat sims making a mess.  I never knew what the others would be doing while we were out...

2) Remove the fire code restrictions - although I know that really isn't possible.  Consoles have X amount of memory, and can only handle Y number of objects - so you have to choose whether to, for example, decorate your home with paintings or grow a big garden.

Despite the other limitations, I really did enjoy playing TS3 on console, and I especially liked the 360 degree control with the stick.

I don't know if you can do this in the PC version or not but for The Sims 3 Pets (PS3) I would like to be able to customize the clothing for naturally born babies, then as they age up I would like to be able to choose each of their outfits instead of given random stuff.  I don't want to have to use karma for it each and every time, because I simply can't.

Did they take that away in Pets?

In the regular game, every sim past the infant stage can interact with a dresser, choosing "Plan Outfit", and that takes you to a version of CAS where you can specify their wardrobes.  In a similar way, interacting with a mirror allows you to change their appearance, and you can select a different hairstyle from there.

On Pets for PS3 you can have a channel kind of like the home shopping network.  I think it would be awesome if your sim could actually order the stuff the have on that channel.  Maybe an option like "do you want to buy {insert item name} for {insert price}?"  You can do yes or no and if you pick yes the simoleons will be deducted from your household funs and the item goes into your inventory.

In  my case I think that it is a case of what I wish it didn't have. I wish that the Townies didn't all have the ability to play the guitar. It would be better if only those who are artistic or, who are virtuosos could play.  The reason being, that as the game progresses, more and more townies start standing around playing their guitars. They play to the point of exhaustion and then they pee their pants and pass out. At first it's funny but then it gets annoying. They even refuse invitations out because of this.

I recently got The Sim 3 PC game and am wondering if the same thing will happen in it too.  I haven't played it long enough to find out yet.

One thing that would help, is when two or more guitarists are standing  close , that they automatically harmonize. That way sound wise, it would be a lot better, especially at Sim parties.

I wish we had more expansions. I hope they release more in the future.

OK I thought of a new one.  Gravestones.  I have The Sims 3 Pets for PS3.  I love making mansions or goth mansions and having a cemetery in the backyard.  But, the only thing you can do is create extra sims, then kill them but they only last about three days then go back to the underworld.  I want gravestones you can keep in your backyard forever, I don't care if they are attached to actual sims or not.  They should be in the decor section.  The old gilman estate has gravestones that aren't attached to anyone.  No ghosts come out and there's an option to select the gravestones and put them in your inventory if you want.

Three word. No. Fire. Meter. I hate that limitation. It the one thing I wish wasn't in the game. It's disappointing to be on a large lot and find out that the mansion you built won't have anything in it. Six rooms and three bathrooms and my fire meter is in the red. Annoying and one of the reasons I'm switching to PC.

EDIT: Recently my Sims marriage was ruined. I was concentrating on one of the family members and not paying attention as my sim starts making out with the neighbor. Wouldn't it be great if Sims could be loyal or promiscuous by a trait or an aspect of traits. Like Flirty Sims or Sims with commitment issues would be promiscuous.

I would love to be able to take photos in the game the way you can for the pc version of the same, I always feel a tad jealous when I see people sharing their sims and their stories through pictures sigh.

I too hate the fire meter and would get rid if possible.

I also would have a washing machine and dryer in the game lol simply because it's a standard household item and a couple of houses I've made have empty utility rooms...lol...oh that's why my fire meter is full...

And finally, I would have more realistic hairstyles, I know there's a hairstyles pack currently available in the Store but I can't afford it right now.

That's probably not the end of my list...but it'll do.
