Gogo pointed out that I had made a mistake on the Lot Type which was set at Community but should have been Residential. Hopefully this was caught early enough to not affect anyone.

This building was constructed for Building Contest 19, a Witch's  Tower.
Lot Price: 76,501
Contains: Supernatural, Showtime, HELS, World Adventures, Ambitions, Generations.
Lot Size: 25 x 30

Well then! It's about time that you arrived! Welcome to my tower of witchery. What century is it again? Oh MY! It's been such a long time since I've left.

As soon as you walk in, you find yourself in my throne room. Leave your wand in the rack by the door will you? I wouldn't want to have to turn you into a smoldering pile of ash. *Chuckle*  You can start the groveling now.

I make my residence in the first floor complex of the building, don't dare set foot into anywhere you're not supposed to be.

The only other occupied floor of this tower is the second. My pride and joy. It's one large library room. Careful, don't knock over my elixirs or you will not leave this place alive.

I research my spells in the other half of the room. I've accumulated more knowledge than anyone else.

What project am I currently working on? I'm researching the behavior of these strange little gnomes, from left to right, we have Gnorma, Gnorm-Bot, Count Gnomula,And Gnorman.

Lot size: 30x20
Cost furnished: §84,911
Cost unfurnished: §54,111

I decided to go with the customary "tower" but modernized it slightly with a "living" area building attached and decorated with the traditional black, white and red with a splash of wood. There is an empty basement and the top level of the tower is empty for whatever you'd like to place there.

ELEGANT WITCH'S TOWER

Lot size: 30 x 30
Price Furnished: 79,226
Price Unfurnished: 41,288
(On Redwood Way, Sunset Valley)

Expansions Used: WA, AMB, GEN, PETS, SN
Stuff Packs Used: none

Welcome to the home of Astoria Malabruja, an elegant witch with an evil disposition and a talent for the dark arts.  Her tower matches her personality, decorated with an abundance of black, but stylishly appointed with the best antiques and accoutrements for herself and her feline familiar, Hemlock.  The tower is perched atop a sheer cliff, and the only way to reach the front door is to cross a bridge over a waterfall.

The first floor houses bookshelves, a chess board, a jelly bean bush and a half-bath.  The second floor has a kitchen, dining area, full bathroom and small sitting area, with a scratching post, litter box and dish to keep her feline healthy and happy.  The third floor is the sleeping area, with a magic mirror, an incense burner and toys and a bed for her pet cat.  Above that is the alchemy room, with plenty of storage for elixirs and their components, plus a desk and a planter to aid in research and development.   There is a lot of room for Astoria to practice spells and play with her latest wands.  And finally, the top floor has an austere but impressive throne room, with a moondial and a pair of gargoyles.  The outdoor walkway at the top of the tower leads to a broom rider's "landing pad," complete with more gargoyles, and greenish lighting to add a spooky ambiance when night falls.  An unfinished basement awaits further expansion... or possibly the bones of unsuspecting passers-by.

Everything included in the download, except Maddox's "trophy's", I hope you enjoy.

Elemental Magic

Lot Size:30 x 30
Price Furnished: 80,761
Price Unfurnished: 66,146
Content: Base Game, Supernatural, Pets, Generations
Description: Magic is more than just a wave of the wand, curses or tricks. It is about nature, respect and reverence for the magic that is life. Celestine Silverwolf has always known this, and now with her familiar, Topaz at her side (or in her lap); she is High Priestess of a coven which teaches the principles of Elemental Magic.

The Throne Room combines the elements, represented in the circular tiles: Earth, Fire, Air, Water and the Light of Spirit; while bringing the feeling of nature and mystery into the room.

The study is a place for Celestine and Topaz to retreat to for some quiet reflection. It is hidden from the rest of the house and can only be accessed by those who know where to look. (Please note that the bookcase doors will need to be replaced once the lot is placed as they don't work otherwise.)

Outside, a secluded circle is available for a bonfire at Beltane or a full moon rite. Who knows, you may even see fairies if you're lucky.

Voting is now up! Vote for your three favourite entries!

Also a reminder to some of you to please include the names of your entries in these posts, several of them I had to go to your download threads just to find the name. It makes it easier to find the name of your entry to put on the Poll. So if you could do that it would be very helpful.  :)

Building Contest 2012: 20 - A Witch's Tower - October 7, 2012 - October 20, 2012
    intl_incident and samoht04!

Congratulations intl_incident and samoht04! It's a tie for first place with two Witch Towers! You can see intl_incident's Entry here and download it here. You can see samoht04's Entry here and download it here.

intl_incident's Comment:

"Thanks everyone who voted for me.  There were so many awesome entries this time that I'm surprised to come out tied for the top.  (Especially samoht04's! His roof is really cool.)  I have to say, this build was a lot of fun, and the inspiration came pretty easily.  I sat down and put it together in a single evening, which is really unusual for me.  I hadn't had much of a chance to play with Supernatural yet, so it was fun finding all of the new items to place.  The exterior was probably inspired by my teenage Dungeons and Dragons days ... seems like there were always pictures of towers on isolated peaks, with waterfalls, in the manuals.  Congratulations to everyone who entered, and thanks to the moderators for putting together such a fun contest."

samoht04's Comment:

"Thank you to all who voted for my entry! I had a lot of fun building it which surprised me due to my lack of interest in building lately but this got through to me. The tower just came to mind randomly really, I often read fantasy books and visualise towers like these and it just sort of appeared on the empt lot in front of me. This is my second version of the tower and my first version was better in my opinion but of course the game just had to crash! I think what I liked most about this tower was building something that looked grand and gothic but on a small scale, my previous attempts have been on a big scale and never pulled off. So thank you to everyone who voted and big congrats to intl_incident on coming joint first as well! Everyone did such a great job and when the contest was set I was expecting some similarities in the entries but no - each one was brilliant in such unique ways! Well done to everyone!"

ladybug53, I absolutely LOVED your entry, and I have been frustrating myself ever since trying to figure out how you get the pagoda roof to have walls all the way to the end of it.  I always have long ends hanging off, which look great in Shang Simla, but not so great in other places.  I have been trying to do a fairy tale cottage with a roof like the one you made, and I cannot figure it out! It looks great. :)

I liked your decor in the room with the purple couches and the chairs you used in the kitchen.  If I would change anything, it would be to not have so much empty space in the throne room, and to use a little less green in the kitchen.  But on the whole, it was great!
