Moving spouses in and money.

So I'm playing my first ever Immortal Dynasty and this is one of the few times I'll be moving past a second generation. Now that I am on to generation two, the spouse I brought in added no assets to my family whatsoever, other than a  book that was in his inventory. Do spouses after generation one not bring in money as well? Is that fairly normal?

I'm not sure whether it's normal or not, but mine usually bring their inventory and about 5,000. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but they don't bring a lot.

I know they don't usually bring a lot. Not worried about the money factor, I just keep track of who brings in what money and when. Oh well.

It all depends on what kind of car they drive.  The trick if they have a nice car is to make sure they're actually driving it when they move in so it's in their inventory.  Beyond the car, it's as Nebuchadnezzar said, usually it's a book and $5000 if they lived in a smaller home or $20,000 for some of the richer/bigger homes.

My sim has had spouses with more money than her and they bring a pittance. Even the overly rich fools. They sell their homes and bring only 2000 simoleans to the deal! What did they do with the rest of the money? Put it in an offshore account?
