My poor sims eat it all the time. ;D I never zoom into it lol!

Perhaps they get smarter while eating it.
Should increase Logic at least. :P

When Zombies come to my house they usually either start doing the Smustle or occupy all of my outdoors rocking chairs. Make of that what you will.

So, are zombies good to have around or bad?
I just bought the game and I read in some posts of problems; so not sure what to do if/when they show up.  I fenced in the yard and locked it to pets.  I found that I am not fond of that aspect of the pet expansion, the strays.

Are the zombies a good thing to have show up, fun to deal with or just a total pain in the rear?

you must lock the gate to everybody but my household, otherwise the zombies will spawn in your yard. They are annoying but only show up at full moon. The next day they turn into normal sims and left. When you lock the gate they will stand outside foot stomping lol. If they get in your yard they will eat your plants.

I've seen all sorts of reactions to them. Some people don't seem to like them at all but I think they're fun. My witch uses them to practice spells and curses or to throw elixirs at.  Then there is the pea shooter.  ;D

I had the wishing well from Lucky Palms on my lot and they loved to hang out there.

You need to lock your garden gate to every one except your household.

Are you sure that locking the gate stops them from spawning in your yard?  I haven't installed SN yet, but I thought I had read reports of the zombies spawning inside people's yards inside the fence and gate, which I would assume in that case would just lock them in instead of keeping them out.  If locking the gate does indeed keep them from spawning in your yard, that sounds great.

It works for me. I've put in courtyards, gardens, etc. No zombie as long as the fence is completely enclosing. One single square gap, however, and they can pop up any time they like. And, yes, touching the house still counts. At least it does in my game.

Okay, correct me where I am wrong.

If I want zombies to show up and keep them around, I leave a section of my yard open, they can then spawn there and I can enjoy them, feed them or whatever to make them happy.

If I want them to stay out of my yard, to leave my plants alone, I have to lock my yard to all but my household.  I can also set aside an area for my plants, lock it to all but household and keep my plants safe.

Okay, this is off topic, I know but what about pets, repairpersons, maids, if I lock it to household only can they get in?

In my other towns, I just take out the gate to my garden untill I want my sims to take care of it,  figure it will work here also, keeps them out of the sprinklers.

Do plants grow back, the fruits and veggies, if you leave them out for the zombies?
It seems as if they can be entertaining at times or on the flip side, a royal pain.

What do zombies need? Umm... Braaains?  :P

Really, I think the only thing they need is lots and lots of garden plants.

Works for me, too. You lock the gate, they can't get in, and they do this:

@Janna: That's right. Locking the gate keeps the zombies out. But repairmen, burglars, and other NPC services will still be able to get in. Stray won't be able to enter if the gate is locked, but your your own pets will be, if you lock it to everyone other than your household only. Also, the plants eaten by zombies do not grow back.

It works for me very well Schipperke. If you do t want zombies at all, you can set the lunar cycle. I'm not sure how, I like the full moon. ;)

Right now I'm not sure where all they can spawn. Before the patch they would spawn anywhere on my lot. If I had a fenced garden but if any space wasn't planted they would even spawn inside the locked fence area.

I made a garden, placed stone flooring around it (a like a patio area) and then built a hacienda style house around the patio. Before 1.39 that was the only way I kept my garden safe.

My latest house has a large lot but a small section fenced for out door seating and a small garden. Locking the gate keeps them out and they only spawn on the unfenced area.

Using that logic I'm going to say they fixed the ability to spawn any where with the patch.

Some were having problems with it, and some weren't. They've never been able to spawn inside my fences, though they can get in if I forget to lock the gate.

Haven't yet had them spawn inside my fenced areas. But, I got tired of hearing them scream because they couldn't get into the fenced area. Had to have my witch cure them and send them on their way (just to keep the peace).

Fascinating, isn't it? You build the lowest fence you can find, place the most fragile looking gate in it, demand that only your family can go throw and than a zombie invasion start to happen, starting somewhere near the street and ending at your gate because seems to be locked... sort off. :P

Yup... And they don't bang on the doors or try and get in the plate glass windows. They're very civilized for ravening monsters.

So, did anyone ever figure out what their needs were? I just don't feel like zombifying a sim to find out. Call me lazy....
