Traveling to the past can bring your Sim a new acquaintance or relative in the present.

On one trip to the past, my Sim convinced a pioneer Sim to keep going instead of heading back.  When she got home, she had a new acquaintance with the same last name as the pioneer, presumably the pioneer's descendant.

A second trip had more surprising results.  My Sim encountered a quarreling couple and smoothed out their relationship problems on a trip to the recent past, only to notice they seemed familiar.  Before she returned, I saw a new box on the side of the screen showing the members of the household, then something shimmered beside the time machine and a child appeared!  He has the same last name as my Sim and looks like her, and is her son according to the family tree (no mention of the father).  I'm just glad there's a SimBot in the household too, so Social Services doesn't get on my Sim for leaving a minor unattended if she's out when he's home.

I can confirm that. If you have a twin and sent one back or forward in time and he will get the divine meal moodlet you have something like the twinbrother paradox. :P
But anyway, I can confirm that it will indeed make your sims younger.

This is strange, I had this happen again but this time I had been watching to see if it affected the age. In this case it didn't.  :-\ This was a different family with aging on. It's a tad aggravating at times when there seems to be no constant in such event. Don't get me wrong, I love randomness, but certain situations shouldn't be random in my opinion.  :)

All this time machine stuff reminds me of the Back to the Future movie series... It'd be funny if a young adult came back with his older self...

And when your sim grows up, you'll see your younger sim popping up and kidnapping your sim to the earlier times. ;)
It would have been great! ;D

I built a masterful time machine earlier today, and noticed I had a new moodlet from using it, "Having a Great Adventure", +20, on top of the traveled in time moodlet.

My Emperor of Evil Sim went to the past, explored a bit and then came back with a -50 moodlet for "betrayed"   Apparently his brother (the International Spy) had betrayed him in the past.  They were best friends but Evil Sim came back and beat up his brother, like a serious throw down, considering they were both max Athletics!

The moodlet has worn off but they still hate each other!  :(

You have done something that's against the laws of time and physics. Windows will shut down. Sorry for the inconvenience.

How exactly do you get a baby from time traveling?! I have never seen a "try for baby" option. Is it something that just randomly happens?

These are all good stories by the way, some things I've never thought of. Haven't spent a whole lot of time time traveling yet, but have gotten some money and a few books out of it :)

I've seen the Try for Baby option quite a few times, but I haven't used it.  I just had a Sim come back from the past with a child who looks just like her.  There was no woohoo or try for baby involved.  I would have liked to let the child grow up so I could see if she looks identical to her mother (who is very pretty, by the way), but it's a challenge game and I had to delete the child to stay within the rules of the challenge.

You've already been legendary for a long while, Swede!

On topic: I wonder how many things the time machine can affect. I have the idea EA is hiding something from us...

But I don't mind, finding out myself is much more fun, as long as it doesn't crash my computer!

Question related to Male Time-Machine-Unlocked Outfits:

What is the 3rd past outfit? There are supposed to be 4 outfits for males, 3 from the past and 1 from the future. I've already got the future one, and the chainmail armor and caveman ones from the past. Oh and for the record, you can get the caveman costume by exploring glowing holes created by Miners.

Do you come out of the hole wearing it, or is it just unlocked? Mine hasn't come out that way, but I never checked to see if it's unlocked.

I had one of my male sims end up with the caveman outfit from exploring a mining hole.  I kind of didn't like it.  His original clothes became every day outfit #2 and I couldn't delete every day outfit #1.  I suppose I could have just changed it but... how annoying!
