Sims 3 pets download error

So, when downloading the Sims 3 pets expansion pack, I usually get something along the lines of "Full build error. Incorrect function" & I have the options to Retry or Cancel. But now, I'm getting the cyclic redundancy check. Sims 3 base game downloaded just fine. If someone could just tell me what I should do? Isn't it possible to download the game online if it's registered on the Sims 3 site? How do I do that?  My disk does have quite a few scratches.

Do you have a Mac or a PC?  If you have a PC and have registered your game at The Sims 3 official site than you can download Origin and it will be available for download that way.    If you have a Mac, it's not possible at this time but will be soon as far as I know.  They plan to have a Mac Origin soon but it's not yet available.
