Object attached to Sim
« on: October 23, 2009, 09:59:51 AM »
Hi Everyone,

A sim has what looks to be like a tray of drinks attached to her hand.  They threw a party and since then this drink tray has been attached and I can't get rid of it. Clicking on it does nothing either.  Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried changing outfits? Just thinking out loud.. I've never had that happen to me before but I'm wondering if maybe you change into formal or PJ's or something if that might get rid of it.  ???
I will love him and squeeze him and pet him and call him George!!

Hello,

I tried the change outfit, it is still there.  I wanted to try Pam's advice and reset the sim but I could not get it to work or I just can't follow directions.  I am really at my wits end.  She keeps functioning like it is not there so I wonder if it is a game malfunction.  I may try and restart it. Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I just wanted to addthat the drink tray on her hand will not let her do some activities like swim so maybe it is not a glitch in the game.  I tried having drinks and makings them, she just picked up another tray to use. Thanks

I've had that happen several times and resetting the Sim fixes it.  Here's what you do:

Open the cheat/control window by holding down Ctrl, Shift, C.  You'll know it's open because the screen becomes a little darker and you're able to type commands.  Type in these words EXACTLY as they are typed here, except using your Sim's actual name.  It's case sensitive.

resetSim Firstname Lastname

Then press Enter.  This should reset your Sim and remove the object from his or her hand.

Let me know if it works.

It happened to me as well but with a guitar :)

The guitar was my Sim's arm!

I just went on buy mode and typed in the cheat 'moveobjects on' and moved the guitar and put it down.

I got the guitar and my Sim was back to normal :)
