I deleted his 4 Everything Van and then bought another one just like it.  The next time he went on a stakeout, I didn't see the van message.  Maybe that fixed it!

Another bug showed up in this profession.  When they have to go on a stakeout that is job related, they get in position and then pop back up and the action goes away.  I tried and tried and they would not do it, so had to abandon the job.  When they do a stakeout on their own, it is fine.  So now if I get a job where there is a stakeout, out of luck with that one.  I read on the sims3 site, a few other people are now having that problem.  It just started too, otherwise, it had been just fine.

Thanks Saltypaws I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with the stakeout problem. I think I need to abandon the job as well. :(

My PI just finished and got his LTW. The only case I had to cancel was one with a flamingo (which isn't important) and having to invite a Sim over to finish it (the glitched part).

No matter how long they spoke, how good of friends they became, he could never confront the guy at the end and finish the case.

Being a PI is great, if only because of the open work hours. Also, with the entrepreneurial reward, you get twice as much ($1300) for solving cases.

(At least I think that's the right LTR). It never changes, though, which is a shame.

This profession is fun, but it and the teacher are bugged right now, with jobs/opportunities that cancel themselves or fail to give you an item for them and auto-fail for 'losing stuff'. Quite a pain in the butt, I have to say.

I find the stakeout ridiculous though, but in a good way. True sim fashion to do something so goofy as holding two tree branches as camouflage.

I had one case that my PI couldn't complete. It was one where you had to talk to family members. In this case it was a single Sim with no family, living alone, so there was no one to talk to.

Personally, I think the stakeout option is rather cute.  Leave it to the sims to come up with something like that.  In fact, I really had to laugh out loud when I first saw it and I still do.

I don't know which specific one you're talking about, but I think maybe you're not required to talk to the client's family members.  Don't you need to talk to people around town?
