Private Investigator
« on: June 15, 2010, 08:40:55 PM »
I was looking through all of these posts and could not find a topic on this specific profession, I think it is in another area.  I am really having a good time with this one so far.  There is more variety and some of the sayings are hilarious.  My one girl was on a stakeout, bushes and all, and the popup came up "I could sure go for some donuts right now", it was so unexpected, which made it even funnier.  First picture, she is on a stakeout and thinks she can't be seen, second picture is going through someones mailbox and what a face and she is actually very pretty, not here, lol.

This profession is different to me, because there is something new every day and it is funny at times.

I'm glad you posted on this. I was wondering why no one has. The little I've played this career I really like it. For one the hours are open so you can work whenever you feel like it. Also there are several options to let you look for cases, unlike firefighters who have to wait for fires to happen between the hours of noon to five. Because there seem to be no late night fires, or early morning ones.

I do find the stakeout popups a little repetitive. But the cases so far have been very funny although I could see not wanting to play them over and over with lots of different sims.

I have played the other professions and this one, like you said, will probably be repetitious later on as she gets higher up.  She is only on level 4, but, I still like this one better so far.

I'll be starting this one fairly soon.  It's the next one I'm writing a guide for.  Glad to hear there's some humor in it.  And the hiding bushes cracks me up!  ;D

My sim is currently on level 9! I love this profession! It's hard when I have 2 other sims living with her: 1 in high school the other in the rock star track...So while she's working I usually keep them busy while she's out...And I usually have her start work at 8am and have her end at about 7pm and when she's hungry I have her eat at the diner and I've solved 22 cases so far!  ;D

The one trait you are going to want  for your PI is Perceptive.
Even before he chose to follow the PI path, he would pull out his magnifying glass and check things out. First thing he checked out seemed to be his new mail box. LOL

That is funny.  Yes, I chose perceptive.  I think it is cute when they creep around with their magnifying glass.

Great screenshots! Thanks for sharing them! Now you make me want to try it out. Did the hiding behind bushes animation happen by itself, or did you direct your sim to do that?

Another good trait to have is Genius and friendly  :)

Friendly, why? Oy, friendly is such a pain to keep up. Said the loner, lol.

They do it on their own, it is so funny.  I can't believe some of these faces these sims make.

I like having friendly and whenever I'm out on the job and I have to talk to a sim about something that happened for the case I give a friendly introduction first and then chat with them a little bit before getting into the case...

Either that or you have to bribe or beat them up. LOL last night I got impatient with Hank, is it Godard? The Policeman, so I beat him up. LOL, But usually I chat to them.
My sims traits are perceptive, genius, friendly, neat and Brave.
Although with perceptive also helping build logic, am I doubling up?

You don't have to be evil to bribe or beat someone up? Cool!
