Sims Sprinker Issues
« on: June 15, 2010, 06:39:13 PM »
I have two Sims who "Love the Outdoors" and always want to play with my garden sprinklers, but they always complain they can't get there.

They can get to the garden, but not to the sprinkler. Is it because I have plants all around?

That's probably it. Plants are solid objects. You could try buying another sprinkler just for them to play in.

There have been several reports of pathing issues when trying to get to a sprinkler.  Some members have shared their garden layouts to help keep the sprinkler from being blocked and to maximize use of sprinkler space.  I can't find those threads at the moment.  Moderators, if any of you know where those threads are, will you please post here and merge the two topics?  Thanks!

I am racking my brain and the only post that comes to mind, is the one that members were putting diagrams of their gardens and placement of sprinklers to get the most plants watered with one sprinkler.  I have looked through alot of posts and not finding anything right now.  It is probably mixed in with another topic on something else.  You know how that goes. lol  So far mine has not had any problem with playing in sprinklers, all my sims play in them, drives me batty sometimes and they don't even have loves the outdoors trait, they do it just to annoy me, lol.

Yeah, that's the trouble we get into when a thread doesn't stay on topic.  :D  I know I've seen all that with the sprinklers and plants, but I couldn't find it either.  I thought that the whole discussion started because someone's Sim couldn't get to the sprinkler.

That is the one I was talking about, as far as the garden layout, but trying to find the one on pathing issues for the sprinklers and sims.

That's one of them, Norma.  Thank you!  Hopefully it will help our original poster here see if it's a garden space issue that's upsetting the Sims.

I'm going to try some different garden layouts. My garden is too big anyways; it takes too long to tend.

Thanks for the advice.

My garden is too big anyways; it takes too long to tend.

All my sims are gardeners for the lucrative money trees, but tending takes tons of time. I've started keeping my garden size minimized by storing a few of each perfect fruit or vegetable in a chest, then removing all the plants except money trees, life fruit, and garlic for fertilizer. If an opportunity comes up that requires something else, I get it out of the chest and grow it again.
