Tutorial: Windows in Basements
« on: September 18, 2012, 05:07:33 PM »
I'll start by there are a few methods to do this, this one I've found to be the easiest because it requires no CFE.
So let's get started.

First build your foundation and the outline of your house.

Now place your stairs and mark their location. (this is important for symmetry).

Now make the foundation hollow.

Next build three sets of stairs.

Delete the stairs and use the lowest level as your start to lower the level of the foundation.

Now delete pieces of foundation where you want your windows to be. Keep in mind the stairs and if you want it to be symmetrical.

Fill in the empty spaces with wall.

Now add your grating (fence) to the other open side. I like to choose one that can blend with the foundation.

Now add windows.

Finally build your house and then you're done.

Thank you for such a well-written, easy-to-follow tutorial!  I'm definitely going to try this.

That is episome!(No,seriously,I'm going to start using that word, it's a cross between awesome and epic,  I made it up of course, so if you speak another language, be aware that this isn't in the dictionary(haha! thought inside a thought!  now that's something new! Well, I think it's not in the dictionary.))  It was so easy to understand that even I understood it.  That's an accomplishment because I think I'm really dense when it comes to building. ::)  Also, now I think I understand how to makethe basement that people made before world adventures.  That looks so much cooler to me.  Sure, the world adventures basement might be easier to make, but with that basement,  I just think it looks cooler.
