Help for placing lots? After Supernatural expansion

I've read Carl's tutorial and some posts, but still seem stuck when I try this. After the new expansion, it let me add Varg's and the Elixir consignment store to my Riverview town. But when I go to Sunset Valley, I have to add them and I can't seem to. I've bulldozed a community lot twice and then replaced a lot . But when I go the library and pull up the elixir store and click on place copy, I can't place it anywhere.
What am I doing wrong?  I've never really tried this before so forgive me.

Have you made sure to change the lot you want to a community lot?

Yes, I did make it a community lot. then when I go back to "place copy" there is no icon or anything clickable in the town for me to place it.

Is the lot the correct size for what you are trying to place there?

Edit: you also need to make sure the type of lot you are putting it on matches the type of community building you are putting on it.

Change the lot back to residential and look if there is a symbol of a house on the lot. If there is bulldoze it and it will be a regular residential lot. Then change it to a community lot.

I suspect the problem is that you haven't specified the right kind of community lot. I don't know off the top of my head what types you need for varg and the consignment store, but I'm sure someone else here can tell you. If you want to check for yourself, go to Moonlight Falls and edit town to see what kind of community lot those places are set as.

Vargs is a supernatural hangout and I would assume you use consignment story for the elixer store. If not that possibly try visitors allowed.
Also make sure that the lot size is big enough,I also had to delete lots and replace them if the starting lot had trees on it.

I've had this problem too. 

I've got another problem. I want to add the Toadstool to other towns but I can't find it in Edit Town. I can see Varg's Tavern, the Elixir shop  and the Vampire lounge, but not the toadstool.

Because it's not in that lots section. Start a fresh Moonlight Falls and simply copy a "The Toadstool" from there.

I have a question on lot placement and I have this not only in Supernatural but in other towns also. 

Through Edit Town I am using the world editor to chose a lot size.  The places I want to put the lot seems to be big enough, and I have moved any trees and stones.  The land is level but for some reason it won't let me place a lot there.  Or it will let me place it but it is back off of the road.  I've placed them one grid square away that way, but when it more I don't think that is good to do.   

If I bulldoze a lot (and I always do it twice), even if it is an emplty lot, and then try to move a bigger lot there it won't let me. 

Am I doing something wrong or just something that can't be done?  Aren't lot supposed to be flush with the road?
