How to trigger the move in offer?
« on: September 15, 2012, 06:25:03 PM »
After reading a post by Carl about the fun of playing a Gold Digger, I decided to give it a try.  I'm playing my little tramp and I just checked out the LTW walk through and in it I noticed that Carl's hottie had been given the option of moving in with her man instead of the other way around.  I was wondering, does anybody know how to trigger that offer?

You have to have a very high relationship bar with the Sim in question.  The trick is to let the other Sim have time to speak.  Most of us are so busy controlling the conversations that the other Sims can't get a word in edgewise.  So, sometimes if there's enough lull in the conversation, the other Sim will ask yours to move in.

Is there any way to increase the chances that the boyfriend will ask?  So far, letting them just do their own thing has netted me enough flowers to open a shop, but no offer to shack up.

It might be a good idea to steer the conversation in the friendly versus the flirty manner.  Have them chat and ask about the day and make them feel sociable and then let go of the reins.  Is either one a flirty sim?

Why do you want the other Sim to ask?  So you can move into their house?  If you take their relationship to the stage where they get married then at the marriage ceremony you can choose to move into his house instead of yours.   This doesn't work with the Ask to Move In friendly interaction but it does for marriage.

Also- she'll get her gold digger LTW just as long as she's been to his house and you see the word Rich in the relationship panel.

That's good to know, and I hadn't thought about just going straight to getting married and using that to get the big house.

Will sims ever get marriage proposals the same way? Or is that something that only happens if the player initiates it?
