Woohoo, and after 6 attempts started during November, finally I made it to the end! We will gloss over the many, many previous attempts from a  couple of years back ;-)

Thank you! I was hoping to finish before the new Sims 4 expansion, so at least I made it with some time to spare :)

Can I throw young again potion to the townies? I'm thinking specifically of witches, mermaids and humans sims. I want townie blood in my heirs.

@CeresIn: Absolutely. Any life extension is okay for non-heirs (I had some attempts where I had no elixirs on hand, so my family basically just opened up their own styling-and-tattooing service :P).

Hi! So I just wanna ask some things just to be sure since this is my first time attempting any dynasty challenge.

1. Is it okay to give a spouse/spare a makeover and/or plastic surgery?
2. Do the kids and teens have to stay on the honor roll or do they just have to get on the honor roll just once?
3. Can I send a non-heir kid to boarding school?
4. The birthday cake can be used anytime as long as they've completed certain requirements, right?
5. Are university opportunities allowed for the unique opportunities?
6. I'm also kind of confused with the vacation days? Do you get 7 more days when an heir comes in or 7 days just for that heir?
7. Is a fairy-ghost different from a plain ghost?
8. Lastly (sorry for all the questions), just to clarify, anyone that isn't an heir (like a spouse) can move out, right?

Thank you and sorry if these questions have been asked before :)
I have no idea what to put here.

Hi @laurela.

1. Absolutely yes.

2. I don't see any reason why they'd have to keep it. But I like the feeling of keeping my kids school-smart too. ;)

3. Non-heirs can go to boarding school.

4. Yes, you can age up upon completing requirements. But only then (and aging up naturally without fulfilling requirements is Game Over)

5. Only if the opportunity fills the Career, Skill, or Special Op slot. Some university ops do (usually stuff pertaining to your major/studies), plenty do not (stuff pertaining to social groups).

6. I was confused by the vacation days too. The original rule was "7 days per heir, no days rolling over" until University Life was released. I think the new rule is 7 days for your founder, leftovers roll over to the next heir (e.g. your founder used three vacation days, so your next heir gets the four leftovers on top of their seven), etc. I got around this by simply travelling as little as possible.

7. A fairy-ghost is different from a plain ghost, yes, but they count as an heir only if you don't have their specific ghost type or if you don't have a fairy yet.

8. Spouses and spares are free to leave (or naturally die, if you're into that sort of thing). It's kind of necessary to fill your household with heirs.

Ah yes, that clears up a lot of my confusion. But how would genetics pass down, say if a gold ghost tried for baby with a fairy? Would that result in a fairy, gold ghost, or a gold ghost-fairy? Would the gold ghost-fairy still be a viable heir?

Also (hopefully this is my last question in a while lol), am I still free to replace the school in Moonlight Falls to a school from, say Sunset Valley, to prevent the opportunity glitch even if I already started my dynsaty? If so, where would I be free to place the stadium then? Thanks once again :)
I have no idea what to put here.

@laurela

There are four possibilities from a gold ghost/fairy pairing:

1. A fairy child
2. A gold ghost child
3. A child who is both a fairy and a gold ghost
4. A human child (it happens; gaining the fairy parent's lack of ghostliness and the ghost parent's underlying humanity)

And any of those could be eligible for heir depending on what you have so far.

Replace, not without a need for it, but you could place the school lot from Sunset Valley in town without bulldozing the original MF school in Edit Town before you start playing.

So if I already have a fairy, but not a single ghost, the gold ghost and the fairy/gold ghost would be viable heirs or is it just the gold ghost? Thank you again! :)

@laurela: Either of those are worthy heirs because they are ghosts, regardless of what other life state they are.

So i've kind of run into a problem today with my dynasty, hopefully someone can help ASAP.

So i'm on my 3rd generation in Moonlight Falls and she's a doctor. I got a notice about a celebration at the city hall for my sim. This is most likely a service reward, which i think is eligible for the 2 different career objects (correct me if i'm wrong) so i rushed to city hall to get it, as it was one of her last requirements. when i got there, it wouldn't let me attend the ceremony for some reason and after a while the option to get the reward was gone :(

Is there anything I can do to get it back or am i allowed to count it? Thanks for the help :)

@laurela: It's a known bug with combined rabbitholes. I'm kind of busy right now (as I was yesterday. The job hunt is fun!), but I'll get an answer to you later today.
