Hi, Challenge Team, I just got ITF, Gen 7 has five weeks of vacation so I figured 'yay, ITF careers and skills,' and was wondering a couple of things:

1. Do either of the careers come with usable career rewards? I believe the guide mentions Astronomers can discover and bring back stuff.
2. Do nanites made by the heir count for the 7 mausoleum pieces?

Thanks for your continued help!

I think this is okay, but I'd rather err on the side of caution, I can send spares off to boarding school, correct?

EDIT:  Additional thing I don't want to just assume, since we are allowed to purchase properties and/or additional lots, if I purchase a property in generation 1, can I set up my mausoleum there?  Specifically, I'm eyeing a park where I can set up my mausoleum and the wedding area.

EDIT 2:  Additional additional thing that is more for clarity.  As I understand the rules from the discussions on this post, only the heir can bring in the new spouse/partner.  Does this apply to imaginary friends?  Technically, they're already in the house, but not every child seems to end up getting one.  Therefore, could the heir marry someone else's imaginary friend?  The simple logic to me would be that the heir must use the potion on said IF, though I don't think they can, can they?  However, said IF is already in the household effectively.  Advise please, and thank you for your time  :=)

Hi, PeregrineTook, I can help with regards to the IF thing. The IF has to be the IF of the heir because the heir has to give the IF potion to the IF to make them a part of the household. I had a similar situation a while back.

@dontmindme: I'm not sure if the careers come with rewards, but nanites are fine for the mausoleum as long as the heir makes them. Probably should add them to the list.

@PeregrineTook: Spares can be sent off to boarding school.

You can set up your mausoleum on a community lot, but this causes issues if we have to sanction a town move for you (like if things go buggy), because you can't move the lot with you.

The IF thing has been answered correctly. :)

Sorry to continue to pester you gloriously helpful people, but I'm quite obviously trying to get things in order on a successful Life States Dynasty and have already failed 5 attempts (I'm holding off posting ANYTHING until I get to the 5th generation).
I think what I'm planning to do for my new founder is okay, but wanted to double check.  I wanted the founder to be the offspring of characters from a previous story.  Is it okay if I create a separate game with them, have them try for baby in the time machine, and then use that baby (who will obviously have random traits) as the heir?  If it's an issue of needing to select the LTW rather than having it randomized by the time machine, I could just use a teen offspring from trying for baby in the past and immediately age him/her up, randomize the trait, and then select the LTW.  Would that be an acceptable founder?

It's never been brought up, but if the resulting sim has random traits, fine by me. Though getting a teen out of it makes for a fairer LTW selection when they grow up, so go that route. :)

Awesome!  Thanks for the quick reply.

Yep, me again.  With more questions.
As I'm reading the rules, it seems only the skill challenges and/or skill certificates as mausoleum pieces need to be unique.  If a Sim were to max a skill that another Sim also has without doing the skill challenges or using it for the mausoleum, would that invalidate HOF status?
In a similar concern, my founder got a level of charisma and has completed the first skill challenge of that (though I hadn't planned to use it for one of his skill challenges).  Therefore, would this prevent another heir from maxing charisma so long as that heir also did not count the already completed skill challenge?
I guess I'm unclear as I know no skill challenge or career reward can be used by more than one heir, but I'm still a bit vague concerning if doubled but unused is acceptable.

EDIT:  I just re-read Rica's FAQ at the beginning and realized I'd misread it the first time around.  (And you were being Yoda and everything!)
Therefore, his charisma challenge counts (which completes his part of the dynasty) and I'll probably not have any other heir come close to learning charisma EVER (so much for that acting career).

I'm concerned that a glitch may have just cost me HOF status.  My gen 2 is most of the way through her requirements.  She's maxed martial arts and was in China doing the Grand Master sparring thing.  When she came back, her last name had changed to Hong.  Curious about what happened, I checked her relationships panel to see if she had been adopted into a Chinese family or something and found she had a son.  Granted, she had NO romantic interactions in China (didn't even bring her own fiancé or even call him), but since she hasn't finished her requirements, yet already had her first child, I'm afraid I've disqualified myself.  Advise please.

Is there a previous save before the trip to go back to?

If there isn't, then...uh...what happened in China stays in China. ;)

Thanks.  I wasn't sure if it would negate my attempt since, as KRae said, it's a known glitch, and most of the travel stuff has been along the lines of knowing that there are risks and so be it.  I may end up restarting regardless.  I had filled my founder's que, so I wasn't watching him and he autonomously went to make autumn salad and learned the cooking skill which I had been saving for a future generation, so I don't know if I want to take the risk that he might continue messing with cooking.

EDIT:  I think I'm just gonna stick with this one, but lock my founder in the basement with the Uni Life dorm fridge so he can only get the quick meal stuff  :=)

Hi, so I'm running into a problem. I sent my final heir into the future where he stayed for a while and has been very successful. Now, when I try to send him home, he completely disappears. Is there anything I can do about this?

I have no idea what the fix could be, and I'm open to people sharing their fixes (if there's one) so I can determine which one should be used.

I don't have Into the Future, but when this has happened to me while traveling, going back to a pre-travel save was the only thing that seemed to work.
