Ok, thanks! She's just completed them and is now listening to the kids radio station after having a procreation elixir and after buying fertility treatment and also making her spouse buy it.

I'm pulling out all the stops with this one.  :)

When editing the town before starting, we can add store venues to the town, correct?

Yes.  There are also lots of rules in edit town for adding venues and changing lot designation, etc.  You can find a more detailed edit town explanation here:

I did read that.  I didn't see anything about store venues.

Yes store venues are allowed, just make sure you don't delete any of the town's original community lots.

Can spares try for baby before leaving the home? I know their kid cannot join the household, but if a spares kid never joins the home is it OK?

@Lisa46

A female spare cannot become pregnant.  The rules state that the only Sims allowed to join a household can be spouses for heirs, heirs and spares.  Unborn children take up a household space that cannot be filled by anyone else so it would essentially be adding to the household which is against the rules.

Male spares can have children, though, because they can do it without adding to the household.

Can jams & preserves via Grandma's Canning Station count as the 7 items from a sim with the cooking skill?  I sure hope so, because that's my current plan.

I still need to come up with a second skill for my sim after the cooking skill.   :-\

@sunsetsorbet

I don't see why not, its a product of the cooking skill, so yes you can use jams & preserves for the 7 items.

It's new, so I just wanted to be sure.  Thanks!   8)

I just started in Riverview, and purchased an empty lot for around §2000. Before the clock actually started ticking and there was still the option to go back and play with another family (as this is how I interpreted "Before you begin playing" in the ruleset) I tried to use the family funds cheat twice in different files to bring funds down to 7000, but it wouldn't work. So I hit the tick and let them actually load onto the lot at 8.00 AM on Sunday, then paused and used the family funds cheat, which worked fine.

Is this the right way to be doing it? I hope this all made sense.

You do the cheat when they load onto the lot at 8AM. You're fine. :)
