Yes, the color borders show up pretty much immediately after birth (I have had one girl who was born normal then a few sim hours later was a vampire but that's it). I don't know when mermaid traits appear as I don't have that expansion but your twins look ready to compete for heirship as either humans or mermaids.

Thanks, well so far then the non grumpy one is in the lead  ;D but that could change between now and young adult, at least I found a way to help them get about quicker, the ITF hoverboard is great for ghosts  :D

I'm on gen 4, but the spouse of gen 2 is 111 days old. She's an imaginary friend and so has many of their lovely traits (inappropriate, flirty).  I know I could move her out, and maybe I will when the gen 4 spares are ready if she's still alive. No question here, just venting.

Full of questions lately but still some things I'm unclear on with this challenge, my ghost twins turned out to be a mermaid and a human, after the decided heir has finished all requirements am I okay to give them ambrosia prior to trying for the next heir? even if they lost their ghostly state they would still be a different life state to the previous two generations but I wasn't sure if they have to remain the way they were born, as ghosts.

Reason I ask is unlike their father who has a nice obsessive trait that keeps him breaking space rocks all day these two just keep scaring the pants off everybody all the time and it's driving me nuts, so I'd love to be able to remove the ghost part eventually.

It's been asked before, and as long as their unique life state is not their ghost type, you can feed them ambrosia after their requirements are done.

Thanks Trip, two days off young adult and still not sure who to pick, last trait might be the decider then. Things improved a little once they hit teen, far too busy to waste time scaring people  ;D

I know that infants who are the heir can't be aged up early, but if they are not the heir can they be aged to a toddler immediately?

Non-heirs can be aged up without restriction, and at any life stage.

I have a question. My vampire got the wish to max the riding skill as she was zooming through the levels, and unfortunately she mastered it in the two seconds it took me to click the wish. I'm guessing it's not counted but I wanted to make sure.
From the moment I fell down that rabbit hole I've been told what I must do and who I must be. I've been shrunk, stretched, scratched and stuffed into a teapot. I've been accused of being Alice, and of not being Alice, but this is my dream. I'll decide where it goes from here.

@sunshine_2406

Did you manage to lock in the wish before she hits level 10?  If you didn't, I'm sorry you can't count it then.

I didn't no, she maxed it too quickly for me. That's okay, I figured that would be the case.

I've been looking at this challenge for a little while now, and I think I'd like to give it a try.  :) I have a few questions before I start, though.

1. Since the founder's traits are randomized, do favorites and zodiac signs have to be randomized as well?

2. I'm thinking of starting in Hidden Springs, and I would like to place Leon's Fountain of Youth on a community lot before I begin my game. I'm wondering if it's okay to use the Edit Town screen for this reason. Apologies if this was stated in the thread already.

3. Would asking a vampire to turn a human spouse be considered a legitimate means of changing a spouse's life state?

Thanks so much!

1. No, favorites and zodiac can be chosen for the founder. I checked on that back at the start.

2. I believe you can place it, just not use it, but I can't find the post that confirms it. Challenge team will have to confirm (or I'll find the post, whichever comes first).

3. Yes, that's a legitimate method.

Edit: Let me clarify #2. You cannot use the fountain until all requirements have been met and you are allowed to extend life of the heir (you can always extend the life of spares, and spouses (with the exception of the genie wish, which is after the birth of the next heir)). Therefore, that leads me to believe you can place the fountain, because how else would you use it post-requirements?  :)

Shirin is correct.  Placing Leon's Fountain of Youth in Hidden Spring is fine.
