Right.  There is no restriction on spouses or spares travelling all they want but an heir only has 7 days in their entire lifetime from creation until you finish the dynasty.

A tip for anyone doing a dynasty - use your sims' biography section in their scrapbooks to type up all their acheivements. Each time you add one, save. That way, if you have to revert to a previous save, you know exactly what you still have left to do.

I have a question about the Philosopher's Stone reward. My founder only needs to get one more reward to fulfill that requirement, and I was thinking the Stone would suit nicely since she's an alchemist. Now, the Stone's 'bind ghost' utility would come in handy in the future, helping to bring in a  ghost spouse, but the question is if this would be allowed or if only the future heir marrying the ghost is allowed to bind it? If so, I'll have the founder pick some other kind of reward I guess.

I set the lifespan to normal before I created my founder, a fairy. It shows the lifespan for YA to be 21 days. Problem is my Sim is showing 103 days until aging to adult. What do I do? I already had to start over once because of user error, and my Sim has just moved into her chosen lot. I had changed the lifespan in the previous failed start, and double checked to make sure it stayed that way.

Edited to fix an incorrect autocorrect.

I think you did it alright. A fairy lives about 5 times longer than a human Sim :)

Odie is correct. 21 days for YA is for a normal sim, or a witch. My founder is a fairy, and she started with 101 days until aging to adult.

Yea! I knew they lived longer, but I didn't realize how much longer when playing on a normal lifespan. I usually have mine set to epic, with shortened times for the teens and younger, so I don't really pay attention to the age bar once they are YA.

I'm a little worried that my second generation won't get a school op in time (she's 3 days away from aging up, and only one day left of school). Considering that I'm in Moonlight Falls with the combined school/stadium and the bugs with it, is there anything for me to do?

Not unless you think you can get her into scouts  or ballet and get the op in the next couple of hours.   I would pray for the scavenger hunt Op to pop since it happens within the last two days of childhood.

I didn't know how to get an opportunity for kids, so I was very happy to read this on time. I also play in Moonlight Falls, so I took Ricalynns advice and quickly had my heir join the ballet. I was very nervous for the opportunity to come, but finally I got the opportunity. It was wednesday and she just had to go a ballet performance before thursday 20.00h. I have been playing with my heir the whole time, but I never got the change to click on the opportunity to go there. She did go to the ballet right after school on thursday, but nothing. I figured it would come up at the very last moment maybe (just like 5000+ wishes tend to come up right before your sim fulfills them), but nothing happened... What did I do wrong? I am hoping for the Scavenger Hunt opt now... Have I failed my Dynasty if I don't get another opportunity? :'(

I have searched the forum for answers and found this:

Rica, did you and Metro come to a descion regarding the bugged schoolhouse. My own opinon is that the player should be allowed to count the opp.The opp was accepted and would have been completed if possible. I myself used edit town to replace the schoolhouse in my own game before starting in hopes of avoiding this problem,so many thanks to the forum member for bringing this to our attention.

Rachel

We had and I thought I had responded but apparently that only happened in my head,  I'm so sorry for that Lady Orc.

Our decision was to absolutely count the opp since it was out of your hands.  Also, the night you age the child to teen or afterwards if it already is, try replacing the school in the hopes it won't be broken for the third generation's school days.

So I assume I should have replaced the school building? I really didn't know this :( It would have been helpful to have a note in the rules about this...
When TripWasInfraGreen asked what the solution was and Ricalynn answered get into scouting or ballet I really thought that was the whole solution so that's what I did. Anyway, I will replace the school building right after my heir has aged up of course.

Odie - you didn't do anything wrong.  Metro & I have ruled that if you get the opportunity but the game won't let you finish it.  Then it's a bug and it's not your fault so you can still count the opportunity.  You now also have permission to replace the school with another one to make sure you don't have this issue in the future.  I'm told that the one from Starlight Shores fits on the same lot but I haven't tried it myself.

Thank you Rica, that's a big relief! Madison is aging up today and I haven't gotten another opportunity for her.
It is a shame we have to replace the school, because I really liked the building. I will try to replace the school with the one from SS, thanks for the tip! Since the school building of Moonlight Falls includes the Sport Stadium, can I also place a Sport Stadium somewhere?
