Rica, Metro has already allowed Imaginary friends as exclusive best friends as long as you don't make them real. I already asked  ;D

So...can you give an IF the IF potion as a young adult, does that even work?

As long as you have a high enough relationship with your IF, you can give them the potion as late as the elder stage.

Indeed, thank you for clarifying that point! I would not have thought of it and very likely ruined my dynasty right at the very end.

Does the teen heir's romantic interest have to stay a romantic interest the entire time she's a teen? Basically, can I break them up before she becomes a YA (and he doesn't)?

So....say I have an angler for a founder and a couple gens down the road, I have a scientist, can the scientist use the other two certificates (handiness/gardening) for their career rewards, even if they have to max fishing for the career as well? Or is only one heir allowed to max it? Because I honestly don't see what the problem is if two heirs max a skill for their job, IF the skill certificate for said overlapping skill is not used for a career reward.

For your angler, what were you using for their career rewards if you weren't using their fishing certificate?

I mean for the angler to use the fishing certificate and the trophy, and a scientist to use the handiness and gardening certificates, but not the fishing one.

To use the fishing certificate, that means that no other heir can receive the certificate to be used because it's a career reward that has to be unique.  The moment the other heir receives (which they will if they max fishing) it makes the original one no longer unique.  We have no problem with multiple Sims maxing skills.  The problem lies in that you are disqualifying another heir's requirement and therefore failing (or just going on without being in HoF).  When a career says you need to max the skill, it's not mandatory.   I have reached level 10 of several jobs and only had a few points in some of the skills that were a part of the job metrics.  It took longer this way but it helped to insure I didn't fail myself out of a challenge.  In my case it had been a different dynasty challenge but it still applies as a strategy for this one.

I have a similar question.
I have a Painter but it only has 3 Challenges. Can my Painter use 2 of the Sculpting Challenges and then a later Gen use the other 3 in combo with say the Writing Challenges as long as neither counts the sculpting certificate?

Yes but there are only 4 challenges for sculpting and you need 6 total.

Do cars count as best friends of a non-normal life state that aren't part of the household? If IFs do, I figure Cars should.
