When can a spouse come in the household? When you are ready to make a baby soon, or as early as you want? And does my sim have to be married to him/her?

I was thinking it would be as early as you want, but what do you do when your spouse dies before you get a chance to make babies? Getting a new spouse doesn't seem an option, right? So resurrecting the spouse that died is the only option I think?
Problem? Don't panic! There is always a solution. You just have to find it  :D

You can move the spouse in as early as you want but there are no life extending restrictions for spouses so you could resurrect, or if they are older, you can always use young again, plastic surgery, life fruit, ambrosia, death flower.

There is a death flower at the cemetery that you could probably have harvested for the purposes of keeping the spouse alive.

Thanks Rica! So used to the rules of the Immortal Dynasty that I never come to think of all those options ;D

I'm thinking this would be a no but I'll ask to be safe. If you use the elixir that doubles the LHP that wishes give and a wish gives 5k, does that count?

The Sims 3 Life States Dynasty FAQ
Below you'll find a list of all the questions that seem to come up more frequently than others.  Please make sure that the answer to your question isn't here before asking for clarification.

Is there a restriction against using the Ambitious trait or Wishing Enhancing Serum to get our unique wishes?
-- Since all traits have to be random, there are no restrictions on what you can have.    As for the Wish Enhancing Serum, you cannot use it's boost to claim wishes that would normally be under 5000 LTHP.

Second question of the FAQ post.

Guys I'm not sure if it is a bug in my game or if EA has changed it so that all teens can be tutored.

I first noticed that Alice in my dynasty could tutor teens.
I then created a sim with the same traits as Alice and she could also tutor them.
I then created a sim with only the brooder trait in common with the previous two I also created a spouse without the brooder trait.
Both those sims could tutor teens.

Either my game has a great bug or EA made an unannounced change in the patch.

You can tutor teenagers without the family-oriented trait now?  I think that's excellent news but I will run a file really quick just to back you up on it.

Okay, so all infants are supposed to have random traits, right? But what about spares that are born after the heir? Do they still have to have a dice roll? If so, that's fine. I just want to make sure.

All infants until an heir is born are to be random.  Afterwards is your call.

I can now confirm that as of right now you can tutor teens under the friendly interactions.  Very nice.  Plus it counts for the tutoring children skill challenge.  Double very nice :D

Sorry for asking so many questions  :-[ but how can you tell an infant is an Imaginary Friend? The only way I know to tell is to see if a Sim can turn to Doll form, and I don't think infants can do that. The motives look the same and there is no coloured ring around the portrait in the Relationships panel.

You won't know until you can see them strut or do the doll form.   However, I think IF is like ghost where it's an overlay over your Sim which means I think once you have a child with an IF, all kids in the bloodline are then able to turn into a doll.  If you can't tell as a toddler, just to be safe, do all the requirements.

Does that mean the IF will have to be the last heir, since if it was one of the first all the following generations would also be able to turn into a doll? Also, wouldn't this be a problem if, for example, your vampire heir had a child with his IF-turned-real and the child was a vampire but also had the IF abilities? Would that child count as a 'different' life state? Sorry if this has already been answered but I'm confused :S
