@Trip, am I allowed to count the wish to earn 5k selling photos?

Sorry for missing that.

The wish is known to be buggy, but I say count it.

Thanks, Trip. This is my first time paying attention to the photography skill or even really trying it so I was unaware of the bugs with the wish. Thanks again for allowing me to use it!

My fellow sim-lovers, I come to announce that I have completed my first dynasty! *throws confetti everywhere* I would like to submit the Dynasty to the Hall of Fame, how do I that?

Thanks for everyone's help, you guys are amazing.

Email the Challenge Team with:

- Time it took to complete the dynasty
- Life states used
- What you liked the most
- What you found to be the most difficult

And someone will enter it as soon as we can.

I don't think any of us were expecting any sort of new update to TS3, but there is going to be an Origin patch that releases the Expansion and Stuff Pack Manager.

From what I can gather, this program more-or-less has the same functionality as the Sims Selector 3.0. However, without any knowledge of how well it works, and knowing that it's a PC-only release at the moment, I ask that dynasty players hold off on using it until I can get a look at how it functions.

(Late) Final Thoughts on the New "Patch"

- It does not affect actual gameplay aside from being able to pick and choose EPs, so players don't need to patch up if they don't want to/can't.

- However, I recommend that players use the new official way of picking EPs if they can. But don't fret if the old third-party game selector is the only one that works. Stuff happens.

I was about to ask if there were any new solutions to aging being stuck since it last came up, but the problem was abruptly solved by a meteor falling on the school. Whoops!

Okay, so I restarted, and gen 3 has just been born. When I loaded the game up today, I had a blank UI, similar to the old travel bug. No character icon slots, no funds shown, nothing. I looked around for some options to fix it and tried them on a copy of the file. Clearing caches didn't do anything, and reloading all previous saves I have gave me the same issue (and I have 22 of them!).

- evicting them and replacing them in the house gives me the boxes for the character icons back but they are blank apart from the colour background and can't be selected. The one selected by default can have actions picked but they don't do them (sleeping character doesn't wake when it goes past the time shown, no queued actions moved on to)

- I tried switching active family (to two spares that had just moved out) - they were fine, but switching back to the proper family just gives me the same as above. I tried travelling with the two spares and when they returned to the neighbourhood I had the same blank UI problem with them.

I would like to stay in Dragon Valley if I can, but I'm running out of ideas. The way the old saves seem to be affected and the return from travel doing the same thing makes me think the problem is with this particular version of the neighbourhood :(

Any ideas?

This happened to me in a non-HoF game. I ended up using error trap and overwatch to fix it. As it turned out the problem was with my merman and some glitch kelp. I don't know if you would be allowed the temporary use of these mods, though.

Oh, that's good to know, thank you. I've never actually used either of those mods as they wouldn't work for some reason on my old computer. I have a new one though, which is why I'm giving the Life States Dynasty another try - loading on the old one was ridiculously slow. I'll give them a try if it's preferred over a move.

I've successfully transferred the copied test file family to the exact same starting Dragon Valley set up that I used, and it looks like they are fine.  I'd lose about a million from the venues and partnerships bought, but that's not really a problem with a werewolf founder. Neither of the spouses or best friends the family had were from the original fixed inhabitants of DV (my founder married Liang Yat Sen from China), so hopefully if I have to go the move route it will be okay to stick with the same town. I'd have to go the old route anyway as none of them can use the phone to move towns in game.

I'll approve the fresh neighborhood thing for you. Good luck. :)

That's fabulous, thank you! I really wanted to get chance to bring some of the multi-coloured inhabitants into the family :)

I have the aging bug back again that happened just before the meteor finished my last try. The baby is two days old but the bar hasn't moved at all. As long as the cake works, am I okay to just keep track of the days and age them up at the right time? I have been tracking them all along in case this happened again. This is gen 6 so there's not that far to go.
