1) That should be fine - if memory serves, my vampire heir had a half sister.

2) If you can do it without the heir and best friend ever achieving best friend status, you should be fine. However, the chances of that happening are pretty slim - and best friends must remain unique the entire time. Personally, I wouldn't chance it.

Edit: Yup, Lilith had a half sister named Jess (Jess was also a vampire, as was their father, Shea; Jess's mother was a witch).

Shirin is right about the first one, as long as none of the kids move into the household (of course). Heck, I used a spouse with grandkids for my first two attempts.

However, no marrying best friends. The requirement is to have a best friend outside of the household:

Quote
1). Have 1 Best Friend that is not a household member and is a non-Normal life state (i.e. vampire, stray animal, ghost). This Best Friend must be unique to the qualifying heir and not a Best Friend to any other household member.

Ah, ok. I thought that as at the time of them becoming best friends they weren't household members it didn't matter going forward. So, does this mean they have to maintain the best friend status with the qualifying bestie until the end of the game and does it also mean that the bestie needs to stay alive until the end of the game so that this status continues?

My understanding is that the best friend can never be part of the household and can never become the best friend of another heir...as long as the best friend is alive. They don't have to maintain the friendship status, and they don't have to stay alive forever.

Ok, I think that's clear. :)

Now then, when it comes to requirements for Adding an Heir ...

Attain 2 different career/profession placeable reward objects. My founder is a fairy with rolled traits of hates the outdoors, inappropriate, photographic eye, natural cook and heavy sleeper. I'm planning on photographs for her mausoleum pieces and have started off putting her in the culinary career. Do the two different career/profession placeable reward objects have to be from the one career/profession, or can they be from two careers/professions? For example, I'm thinking of the Cooking Skill Certificate and the Photography Skill Certificate as her qualifying rewards as these aren't required for other careers and as she'll basically be doing the 3 culinary skill challenges and 3 photography skill challenges for requirement 6, no one else will be touching cooking or photography.

I always use the clone townies for best friends, to me they are expendable, they come and go all the time, original townies get few and far between unless you take steps to try and keep them around so I like to keep all of them free as options for future generations to marry.

Do you plan on maxing the cooking career? my founder did that and I chose not to use the certificate so I didn't have to lock the cooker away, I found that very annoying in my immortal dynasty, instead I just used the food processor and fridge.

Photography gives you a key at city hall for making 25000 simoleons so you could also get two for that, of course sometimes the ceremony is bugged for some city halls but I don't know what town you are using.

As far as I know you can switch jobs, but might be best to wait for confirmation on that.

Not official, of course, but I'm pretty sure objects from 2 jobs are okay. I also used objects other than certificates when possible, although the photography certificate would be a safe choice and even after 7 generations it's unlikely anyone will max cooking by making the occasional autumn salad. My strategy with the BFs was to use elder witches when possible, so they wouldn't be around long. It gets difficult to keep long lived occults away from the rest of the family.

For BFFs, i would only use a BFF if they are either a life state you already have (you're a fairy, so if Jared Frio is a fairy you can befriend him) or a clone-face.

You can definitely switch jobs. I would go with the photography trophy (it's easy to get if you sell at consignment store) and the photography certificate.

And if you are looking for 5K wishes: never, ever cancel the "Take Photo Worth $x amount" wish, even if it's low value. You need to fulfill all of them to get the high-point wishes, and those wishes never respawn.

Official word agrees with you. :)

As for best friends, I was free to use the long-lived original townies of Starlight Shores considering that nearly all of my spouses started off dead, and my household as a whole was very anti-social. It's not a strategy that works for everyone.

Question:

There is a teen ghost I have my eye on for my generation 6 human. Can she add him to the household when she becomes a YA, even though he is not marriageable age yet?

No, unless you can find a way to age him up without adding him to the household.

Would inviting them over and caking them up work I  did that a long time ago on an attempt to Zoe Cromos trying to get her to Ya so i could marry her father since only spouses  can move in without her ever being part of the household.

It definitely works for regular people outside of the household, but for NPC ghosts? Who knows.

I'm testing this now (and hoping it works) and I'll report back what I find.

I am attempting to bind a ghost to the household, but it keeps saying there's not enough space. No one is pregnant and the household has six people. What is going on?
