I don't know what to say to your problem, Dek. :( I've never encountered a town that never, ever produced supernaturals when I had the options selected.

Could I try disabling the supernatural option and enabling it again to see if that does anything positive?

Alternatively, do ghosts work like other states when it comes to the best friends requiremets?

Yeah, you can see if it does anything.

Ghosts don't work well due to them not staying in the relationship panel. Imaginary friends and genies do the trick, though. Hazelnut played her life states dynasty without Supernatural and relied on those two life states for the best friend requirement.

I might have to bite the bullet and purchase and install Showtime on my laptop then, as otherwise my founder won't be able to have a best friend that isn't human if the disabling and enabling of supernaturals doesn't work for me.

I don't suppose that bonehilda would satisfy the requirements of a unique best friend that isn't on my family tree, would she? LOL I'm thinking solely for my founder.

I'm sure she doesn't, but it doesn't hurt to ask ... LOL

I don't think so. Bonehilda is a sim in a special role, not of a special life state.

That blows. Though I think you have to start over in order to reinstall an EP. :( I know we have that rule for other dynasties.

I've never had Showtime installed on my laptop before now, so it isn't reinstalling it in that case. :)

I think I may have a solution re my lack of supernaturals in that one game in Sunset Valley.

As a trial, I started a new game with the same things as that one - witch, all supernatural creatures enabled. I went in and sent my sim around to meet as many people as possible on the first day (I know there's a cheat for that, but I feel uncomfortable using cheats. Unlike my life states dynasty attempt, I didn't send him to China on day 1 week 1. Late day 1/early day 2, a number of the sims my sim met changed into supernatural life states.

I wonder if the sending of sims over seas or to uni before the end of the first day kinds of locks in the state of all sims to their state at start of game. I have no proof of that one way or the other, it is, however, the only thing I recall doing differently.

Hmm, that's really interesting, Deklitch. I've noticed it takes about 3-5 days to get the full supernatural population. They seem to come in waves, for lack of a better term, but it might have something to do with your lunar cycle how quickly you get the full supernatural pop. Most of my games are on the 6-day lunar cycle so I get the supers in about 3 days. 8-day lunar cycles seem to take a bit longer.

I do wonder if lunar cycles have anything to do with it, because I had a fixed moon for my immortal dynasty, and there were supernaturals, but they were very rare. There was a 30 week period where no one new got turned.

I had a fixed lunar cycle in my life states in Riverview, and supernaturals were everywhere. When I wanted a regular human, it wasn't easy.

Aging bug occurs! I didn't even notice it until my gen 5 heir went to age up and I noticed be still had 12 days left even though he had been a teen 18 days. Permission to move to clipboard and back?

EDITED: Typo! I'm so sorry it was 8 not 18.

Try it and see if it works. Though you probably should have come to us a lot sooner with it.

I was wondering what was up with that number! Oh well. Glad to see that you fixed it. :)

That's a cautionary tale of why you should always hit the preview button. Good job me.
