So I really want to do a dynasty with an alien founder, but they're not available in CAS.  Would it be possible for me to download an alien from the Exchange and use them as the founder?  My thought was that I'd download a toddler, age them up to YA and edit them in CAS, randomly re-roll their traits, and then save them to be used as the founder in a new save file.  Would that be permitted, or would it be against the rules?

I thought that saving aliens to CAS stripped them of their status as aliens.

It does. I'd saved an alien, and when I went to make him a young adult in CAS, his alien eyes became normal brown eyes, and his alien voice became a normal voice.

Ah, well, if that's the case I won't bother then.  Kinda disappointing... I want an alien for a fun game, and I'd like to be able to customize her.

You can. If you can get an alien to visit the household, then you can invite them in - spares and spouses are able to be physically customized and life extended. You just can't change their traits, but your founder has to roll randomly anyway.

If you really want one, what about a YA alien from the sims exhange here in the forum? I do remember there is one somewhere around pages 7 or maybe already in page 8 already now.

As mentioned, alien-status doesn't transfer when you save them to CAS, and you can't use a household that was saved through Edit Town.

So, they are only available as spouse then? Well, there is no other choice but to invite I guess.

yes, aliens are options are spouses and heirs, just not your founder. Sucks, but what can you do?

Double post, I know.

I noticed that in the list of accepted life states, none of the ghost types that come with Into the Future are listed. I don't have the EP, but I grabbed a list from SimsVIP:

  • Death by Time Anomaly
  • Death by Falling From the Sky
  • Future Urnstone Hologram (Ghosts of the Future) (it's available in CAS but I have no idea if it's feasible to get a ghost in-game like this or not)

Now, from what I gathered/heard through other players, death from falling from the sky is incredibly easy to get in the game, because using the jet pack carries a 25% chance of dying from it. Should we consider that in the rules? People could basically force-kill a sim by making them jet around. I think. Someone with ITF needs to give me some input. :P All ghost types are available in CAS, though.

I would imagine that the jetpack ghost would be permissible under the same rules as the ranting ghost - as a founder only.

However, before I turned off ITF because of my 4x4 Dynasty, I played with the jetpack in another file, and for all the flying that the sim did, she never died.

That's what I was thinking, but do sims autonomously use jet packs? I know that half the reason we restricted ranting ghosts to founders only was because it's just not autonomous.

To just fly around like sparrows in a hurricane? I don't know, I was too busy micromanaging. I don't believe so, though. I believe, and someone will have to confirm/deny, is that you instruct the sim to use it.

Now, the important part in this is : How much chance do one have to death by ranting about the death?
Because all this time I try to rant about the death, they always died, so I assume it was 100%, is it true?

Not sure about npc's with jetpacks but my own sims if they have one in inventory will 'fly around' if idle, I don't know if just flying around causes it though so much as landing when teleporting somewhere, I've not seen a sim crash head first just flying around, only when arriving at a new place after the 'fly here' interaction, which you do have to tell them to do, it's the same as 'go here'.

But my flying around sim was high level advanced tech, perhaps you can crash at low level, either way just flying about is autonomous.
