is this a new challenge for 2014? and I am new to challenges and am wondering if this would be a good one to start with? I do not know how to add pics or screen shots here so I would need to learn that too. Any advice would be great. I want to start a challenge but feel a bit intimidated by it all.

This isn't a new challenge but it is a lot of fun. You can take pictures with the C key and use the tab buttons, z buttons to change the zoom and such. I would say this is a good challenge to start with if you have Supernatural just because it's easier to get the different life states. It is intimidating and it does take practice to get a really good feel for it. The hardest part is the child stage, no ifs, ands, or buts but once you get through that, the other parts are usually smoother sailing. I personally like this challenge because once you start learning the ins and outs, you can get through it all much more quickly than, say, an Immortal Dynasty, which decreases the file size and minimizes glitch chances. Best of luck to you!

As long as you have access to 6 permitted occults, then yes.

Hi everyone. I have never done a challenge before. Yesterday I tried the Life states dynasty and I totally screwed it up from the beginning...i bought a house on a lot....one of the apartment buildings in the union cove
figuring i could use the rooms for all my heirs, than noticed i was supposed to get an empty lot and i guess im supposed to build my house, but i was going to play it knowing
i was doing it wrong..... thankfully my game froze, so i have to start over.
I was wondering if there is a beginners challenge or an easier challenge that can get me used to what i have to do?

I personally found the Life States Dynasty to be the easiest of the dynasty challenges, but maybe you can try one of the other ones to get a feel for how a dynasty works. The Immortal Dynasty, while easy to mess up, is also a good place to begin.

My criminal just received a 'smooth jam in three parts' painting for his promotion to bank robber, Marian's list doesn't mention the paintings but it is a reward so can I count it? I'd like to leave the athletics skill certificate alone as he didn't do the challenges for that, then somebody else could do them and I wont have to worry if they hit level 10 in doing so.

Those aren't counted as career rewards, I'm afraid. :(

Really? that's a shame as I just got another one for promotion to Cat Burglar, I took a screenshot and it clearly states it is a reward for reaching a certain level, like the police car, fridge etc.

I'm curious now why we can't use these, is it because the picture received is random?

@Turoskel-

Boss has decided that since you do get the notification in game, it gives it credibility.  So yes, you can count them as career reward.  Just make sure don't confuse those 2 promotion items with the objects taken home from swiping.

Thank you Metro and Nutella  ;D

That is such a relief, I was just racking my brains trying to think how I would keep my next gen from maxing athletic when they are going to be a mermaid, I already put the first painting on a wall as soon as I got it so I knew what was what but he hasn't swiped anything at work yet, only some money so far, his klepto mother brings far more home and she only works at the diner  ::)

Off to make tiny mermaids now then as this means he is all done, thanks again.

Sorry for double post but if I edit my last one it might not get noticed.

So I didn't have a mermaid baby but twin ghosts who I think class as potential heirs assuming their grandfathers life state is irrelevant here.

To explain more clearly:

Witch (founder) + dehydration ghost = ghost witch

Ghost witch + mermaid = twin dehydration ghosts

So still different from previous two heirs but same as grandfather, I'm going round in life state circles here  ::) Is one of these the heir then as they have no witchly powers?

Are your twins normal dehydration ghosts? Like, is their lifestate normal or witch or mermaid? Cause if their lifestate isn't witch, they're heirs.

It looks to me like you should have:
Founder- Witch
2nd Gen - Dehydration Ghost (+witch)
3rd Gen- Insert life state here (+dehydration ghost)

They are not showing as witches, no gold border, they have normal food and not kelp as their favourite so I'm assuming not mermaid but I've never played one as a baby before, but looking like human ghosts so far. I'm sure I was being unobservant when their dad was born, I just saw ghost and didn't notice he was a witch till he aged to toddler, it does show at birth doesn't it? I'm sure it did on his siblings  ???
