Axiom,

I, for one, appreciated the warning.  It made me do a malware scan and, even though I have not been to the official Sim 3 site recently.  I found several new intrusions.  I must remember to scan more often.

PlanetSmilies? So maybe all it was was that one of the posts made by a member over there at the forums contained a smiley from that place.

I scan with malwarebytes every day and have not got anything. Thank you though.

Yes, that's what it is. There is reports about it on several forums and from what I've read you only get the warning message if you use Google Chrome. Several forums are banning links to PlanetSmilies to prevent emot icons from there from being used on their forums.

Edit: And it's also being recomended that you might want to block images from PlanetSmilies.net in your browser from loading as a precaution.

There appears to be no way to do this on firefox? I do have adblock plus.

In Firefox go to Options, Content Tab and across from Load Images Automatically click on the Exceptions button and in the address bar put in PlanetSmilies.net and click Block.

Done and thank you.  :) But that won't block the entire site will it? Malware isn't stored in images is it?

From what I've been reading it's coming with the images. But I haven't read of anyone getting malware just the users of Google Chrome getting the warning messages when someone makes a post using emot icons from planetsmilies. So I'm not really sure.
If you want to read up on what people are saying just do a google search for planetsmilies malware. You get list of several forum post talking about it.
