Tiberium gem dust from the gem cutter from SN grows - first into a small spire and then a large one.  Every tiberium gem you cut can turn into as many as four large spires, and it doesn't cost to use the cutter.  There's one in the alchemical consignment shop, so you don't even have to buy one.  I got loads of tiberium by breaking space rocks (and also from the dog's collectable sniffing), and quadrupled my worth by cutting and growing the dust.
