Permanent Moodlets List
« on: September 13, 2012, 01:03:17 AM »
One of the things I do before starting every game is filling my house with as permanent moodlet related objects as possible. Since there doesn't seem to be a guide on this, here is a list of permanent moodlets to keep your sims' moodlet meter at green or elated 24/7.

Decorated/Nicely Decorated/Beuatifully Decorated +10/+25/+40
One of the easiest moodlets to obtain. Simply fill your house with paintings and decor to get a +40 moodlet

Cozy Fire +5 to +17?
A flame fruit in the inventory will give a permanent +5 cozy fire moodlet. Fireplaces will give a higher cozy fire moodlet, and may be placed in every room for maximum effectiveness. However, since fireplaces are large and take up a lot of space, i prefer to only put them in certain rooms since they get in the way most of the time. Don't forget to get the 'Fireproof Homestead' to prevent your home from burning!

Music +20-40
Another easy moodlet to get. simply have music playing nearby to get this moodlet! A good tip is to carry a boombox around in your inventory so you can get this moodlet even when you're not at home.

Incense Holder +10-+30
There are 3 different incense that give out mood boost of +10 each, as well as an additional effect for each one. The effects are less stress, faster skill learning, and more successful romantic interactions. These moodlets can be obtained from each of the three locations from World Adventures. An easy way to get these is to use the buydebug cheat, and place them in a collection so you can buy them whenever

Stylin' +20
A permanent +20 moodlet that is awarded when you reach level 10 in the styling career. Although it takes a while to obtain, it is worth it for legacy sims or sims that you want to keep around forever with the never age potion.

Eternal Joy +25
A permanent +25 moodlet that is awarded when you wish for happiness from a genie in showtime. Genie lamps are quite easy to obtain through the PlasmaPunch Gyroscopic Conductor, although it may take around 5-10 tries to get one.

Faithful, Eternally Faithful +10-+20
Don't cheat with your partner for 12 or 20 days to obtain this moodlet

Wondrous Collection +10-+30
One of the hardest moodlets to obtain. Place a relic collection in the same room to obtain this moodlet. My personal favorite is the dangerous creature collection which gives a +25 moodlet with only four relics. Completeing the relic challenge will give this moodlet an additional 50%, however the challenge is pretty difficult to obtain and not really worth it.

Floor Hygienator +15 - +35?
One of the most overpowered and overlooked object in the game. The floor hygienator comes in three different scents, and can be placed anywhere on the ground, they can even be stacked on top of each other! Two of the scents will give a moodlet while the last one will restore your hygiene by a little bit. Although the moodlets are not permanent, the floor hygienator will refresh the moodlet everytime you walk over it, or every once in a while if you're standing on top of it. Place these floor hygineators over places your sims walk by or stand on top of for full effect. For example, place them under beds, under an art easel, at the front door, etc. Make sure to complete the "Masterful Inventory" challenge so these can't backfire. With the 'dirt defiant' LTR and a hygiene scent under your bed, you NEVER have to shower again!

Science Experiment
Another hard moodlet to obtain. First, you must be level 10 in the science career (you can quit after you reach level 10). Afterwards, the "perform science experiment" interaction will be unlocked. Now, you can use this interaction on almost every object! However, there may be a variety of results including mood boost, negative mood, set object on fire, object disappear, annoying noise. When you perform a science experiemnt, place the object outside so the whole house doesn't set on fire. Aim for "Success! Your experiment has imbued this object with a positive effect on anyone who walks by!" or "Success! Your experiment has imbued this object with a positive effect on anyone who uses it!". You can also get the additional aesthetic appeal, but uunncessary if you already ahve beuatifull decorated +40. You can undo the sciene experiment if you get the sonarific noise or negative moodlets, but there's not much you can do if the object disappears or sets on fire.

Beautiful Vista +10-+50
One of the best moodlets available! This moodlet is given to your sim anywhere on your lot! however, this moodlet only comes with certain lots, and It disappears when you try to move the home or lot. This moodlet is almost impossible to recreate but if anyone knows how or a mod to do this, please let me know.

Trait related moodlets

Loves Outdoor +20
Simply go outside! Great for fairies who sleep in fairy houses outside

Adventorous +10
Activates in tomb.

Loner +15
Be alone!

Additional Notes:
When you move out or change lots/houses, all the moodlets disappear! Make sure to take the flame fruit out and back into your inventory. The only way to reobtain the Stylist/Eternal Joy moodlet is to use a mod. For Faithful/Eternally faithful, wait another 12-20 days or use a mod. The only one of these moodlets that affects pets is the cozy fire from having a flame fruit in the inventory. Most of these should affect babies, toddlers, child, and teenagers as well. Although not permanent, ambrosia and the 7500 day spa package will give a +75 moodlet for 7 days. Let me know if there are additional permanent moodlets, especialy for pets!

There's also the "Very Fulfilled" moodlet for completing a lifetime wish. It's not permanent but gives a +75 buff for 7 Sim days. Essentially the Ambrosia/Spa moodlet with the "Fulfilled" moodlet's icon.

There's also some moodlets you get while on community lots. If your Sim's at the park they'll recieve a +30 moodlet for it. (Not sure if that amount's accurate.)

The refrigerator which comes when you complete level ten cooking career gives a lovely + 40 when in the room with it, and when you walk past it.  I usually build open-plan living areas (combined kitchen, lounge and study) for maximum effect.  You can't buy this anywhere, but once you have it, you can use buydebug to replicate it for use in vacation homes.

I built a starter house the other day, and my tester sim got a +5 decorated moodlet from it.  Maybe it's lower than the listed low of +10 because he's got the trait of brooding?

"Among Friends" can be permanent since it stays around as long as you are with friends, but it does apply only to Shy Sims.

A few more to add to the list. Some of these aren't exactly permanent but are useful and easily maintainable.

Intrigued by Great Lecture (+20, 3 h)
This requires another Sim to be level 10 in the Education career and in the same room. The moodlet lasts for 3 hours after the Education 10 sim leaves the room.

Eye Candy (+10, 30 mins)
Requires another Sim who has purchased the Eye Candy lifetime happiness reward to be in the same room; similarly moodlet lasts for 30 minutes after sim with Eye Candy leaves the room.

Comfy (up to +40, +80 with Couch Potato)
Depends on your Sim, it may be useful to invest in an expensive chair, especially for writers. It's useful to buy a good bed too for this purpose.

Fresh Clothing / Very Fresh Clothing (up to +32, 16 h - 2 d)
Requires your Sim to do laundry. Buff refreshes with a change of clothes, so given its long timer - normally 16 h - and especially if you upgrade the washing machine with the Clean Polymer Injection System (raises timer to 2 d) it's near-permanent.

That's why I almost always give my richer Sims laundry equipment. There's also a "Clean Sheets" moodlet when they sleep in a bed after doing laundry.

Feeling Lucky isnt permanent, but lasts for a whole day, given by the Lucky trait after sleeping!

Btw, Cozy Fire is also given by drink or food made with Flame Fruit. It seems only freshly harvested flame fruits will give cozy fire moodlet. It wears off after a while. My gardener sim always have the moodlet while the fruit in the cooking sim wife stops giving it after a while.

My gardener Sim always has it, too, and I was wondering why until I realized because she is the family gardener and she is constantly near it and in her inventory.

Ya, it is easy enough to distribute freshly harvested flame fruits to family members though.

Pregnant moodlet lasts for the duration of the pregnancy.

Vampires get Vampiric Vigor moodlet every night!

Hmm I just realized if you place the flame fruits on the ground, you can see some of them will "flame" intermittently, while some will not. I guess that's how you know if certain flame fruit will provide cozy fire moodlet.

Hello, thanks for this nice useful post.

Beautiful Vista for a lot can be set +100 creating or editing a world with CAW (Create A World, a free maxis tool). The thing to modify is each lot where you want the +100 moodlet. When you click the lot in CAW, one of the lines is Beautiful Vista, you only have to type 100 there.
You can place lots for your homes and favourite communities where you want them definitely, because they will lose the Beautiful Vista if you move or remove them.

There is also a tool, but lately it was not updated, so it doesnt recognize the newer worlds and savegames, it is named "Beautiful Vista buff adjustment" from TigerM.

A good thing is that Beautiful Vista works too for babies and plumbots.
